I've looked at 3D printing to do interior stuff. It was about 2-3 years ago, but the speed was horrible. For example, laser cut a 7in tall ''A'' in 1in thick acrylic take me 4min. It would be faster with a CNC. I would curious how much time a 3D printer would take to create that even if the...
I have 500 white cut vinyl (7inX11in) that will be premasked that need to be cut to pieces. Other than cut it by hand, would there be a way I could trim this with my fotoba digitrim? I'm not sure it would read the white vinyl on the blue backing plus the premask over it.
So my tension on the laminate was at minimum but the tension on my print was at maximum. So it could be the culprit.
You're telling me, my temperature should be at 140f and the pressure only at 1 on a kala mistral 1650 for a calendared laminate/vinyl printed with a latex printer o_O? In my...
Thanks for the info. I only print with latex and most of my laminate is calendred. So maybe it's the reason my training guy told me to leave it at 113f.
I wasn't aware about the release liner. I'm one of those that leave a ton on the roll. I will definitely check that.
In a normal situation...
I print with a latex printer and the vinyl/laminate are mat calendred. The heat is just for the silvering.
I will make some test with heat at a lower temperature. I think I have 3 option down (104f, 94f and 85f). And I will also try no heat at all.
Thanks for your input.
So I have a kala mistral 1650 with heat option. On my training, the rep told me to set every lamination to 113F. It worked great for a while. But now, with a new kind of laminating film (in-house brand from a supplier) my final job curl on the inside after the lamination (print side). The rep of...
I own a large format printing business for about 15 years now. We do roll-to-roll and laser cutting/engraving. We specialize mostly in interior signage.
I'm looking for a small flatbed printer that have white + varnish capabilities and could print up to 6in thick material. From what I've...
be careful. a lot of smaller printers are very slow and ink cost is more. So even if the printer is less expensive, the operating cost is very expensive.
We do our own ''frosted vinyl'' with our white ink capability. We tried almost everything that is optically clear. Most manufacturer will use pet film, the inconvenient is if there is a crease in the material, there is nothing you can do about it. From all the material we tried, the 3M 8150 is...
I have a HP 700W. If the image on the second surface is not exactly the same you see the print on the other side with the sunlight. We have tried the 5 layers print with the black in the middle but it take way too much ink and time. Drytac make a blockout vinyl with a clear adhesive. We print...
We have an IP phone service with a virtual assistant. Every calls are recorded and could be sent by email to save it in the customer folder and CRM. Each person in the shop have their extension and the call is send on their office phone + the cell phone at the same time. So I don't give my cell...
I have a keencut. I cut faster with knife and ruler. Did not use it for 2-3 years now.
The royal sovereign electric trimmer is cool. I played a couples hours with it and did not like the inaccuracy. I have a fotoba digitrim, but it does not work for this application.
Flatbed cutter, I wish...
I would like some recommendations to cut premasked vinyl. Right now, I just do a weed box around each decals and use this to cut with a ruler and knife. It work well but when you have over 200 units to do, it take a lot of time. Is there any way to do it faster?
check in onyx if you have a pressure set. If so, it will override anything setup in the cutter directly. I run with caldera and my setup is to whatever the setting directly on the cutter.
