Hi All.
Just an update...
After getting these error codes, I went more in-depth in my search for the cause.
I ended up taking a closer look at the belt pulley system (left and right ones) and noticed the rod that goes through the center hole (left pulley) had a play in it. I ended up changing...

Thanks for your assistance.
I think I made a break through. The problem seem to be with the encoder sensor. After comparing the old and the new one, the old one was made in Japan and the new one was made in China.
I cleaned the old one with a cleaning cloth and alcohol and reinstalled...
The scan motor seems to be installed ok. The tension on the belt is not overly tight. I don’t have one of the tension gauge to use.
The encoder scale and sensor are all clean.
I did the clean of the encoder scale above the capping station. Now I’m getting an internal error 1942091 while doing a test print. The carriage stopped above the mist sponge - wiper station- capping station.
Hmmm. That would be an odd one. I’m more leaning towards the encoder scale by the capping station needs cleaning and hoping that solves the problem.
I’ll be at the machine within the hour and I’ll update you.
The difference with the XJ 740 is,
1) - it doesn’t have a carriage lock mechanism that gives that click lock sound by the capping station
2) - the sheet cut mechanism is not detachable from carriage.
The process I did for the limit initialization and the linear encoder setup was completed...
I’ll do that when I get in tomorrow. Cleaning with isopropyl alcohol would do? When you say lock correctly, you are referring to having the cap tops lock onto the heads fully when doing the limit initialization?
Hi.
I have a Roland XJ 740 which I changed the carriage belt, scan motor, encoder scale and sensor. I did the limit initialization and the linear encoder test and both passed successfully.
The problem I’m faced with is whenever the carriage leaves the capping station and comes back to park...
