  1. Is there an easy way to move cutlines?

CM4 you can sort by color, or by cut. Click the Layering tab... it'll be default on layers. Click "By color" And you can select which color you want to cut. It uses whatever the spot name is...so if you have it as "Cutcontour" then it'll show up here.
  2. Latex vs. Resin Printing for Wraps

I doubt your setting facing in latex after 3 years. We've had wraps it there for 7+ that looks as good as day one. We do dozens of police vehicles with our latex - most get checked out every 3 years, but there's a few old ones that are 6-7 years old. Everytime they get into an accident we...
  3. Suggestions Graphics card a must for new workstations?

Graphics cards only help if you're doing a lot of Photoshop / video editing. It may allow you to open a graphic intensive file for composer a bit faster.... But not worth the price. We only have graphics cards in our artist machines, the rest are all integrated... Good enough!
  4. Can I install an s80600 main board myself.

I have the tools. When I open the tool my printer Tech's name is in it... I'd hand them out, but I don't want to get him in trouble. Ill play with it tonight, see if I can generalize it. There is stuff in the tool that can break your machine, so I get why Epson doesn't hand it out... But...
  5. Can I install an s80600 main board myself.

Do you have the service app / Service book? It seems like an easy procedure... but you need the app to initialize the board and do a few other things
  6. Need Help Vinyl Master Cut Version 5.0

If you copy it from one PC to another PC's 2023 folder... It doesn't work. I don't know if it's because it's a new install or what - but if you copy it over from the old install to the new one it's fine. My guess is they need to change something with their install file to fix that issue. In...
  7. Need Help Vinyl Master Cut Version 5.0

Goto your illustrator 2022 plugin folder and copy the cut plugin to your 2023 folder and it'll work. I do that with every new release and 99% of the time it works fine.
  8. Sign Install...

There are vinyls made for cold installs. Drytac polar is one that's bubble free and rated for -4f installs. Always good to have a roll on for winter.. and it's a nice high tac air free vinyl, so it's good in the summer when you're putting it on plastics / rubbers.
  9. Question Do 5'x3' Corrugated Plastic or ACM Signs Need Plywood Support?

I wouldn't do a plywood backer.. but I'd add a mid bar and screw into that as well. One of our contractors put up 3x 12 x 8 signs - 3 4x8 per sign, same setup as yours. It was fine for a month until we had a bad windstorm... Then 2/3 panels on each sign blew off. A mid brace secures it a bit...
  10. Gassing out Eco solv printed media.

Paint is the same way. We screenprint 300,000 sheets of reflective for a government job every year - We have the rack space for 50,000 sheets - One time we noticed dust getting on the sheets, so we bought that big painters roll of plastic and loosly wrapped it around the racks and above it to...
  11. File server question

I will say this..... Truenas is a bit harder than QNAP for setup. You have to install plugins to do backup, and use Rsync to do real time sync. If all your doing is file serving, its not hard to setup... simple cloud backup isnt bad either. But if you plan on doing complex multi-point...
  12. File server question

$15 a month to backup unlimited data to google drive - A 10 TB Mechanical HD is about $200 right now. So my cheapo, 10 year server PC can run truenas, Realtime sync to the cloud, and to a 10 TB Mechanical, for very, very cheap. I'm fighting with our current IT because they don't want to...
  13. File server question

If you're google, Microsoft, or some.other company where any downtime costs you hundreds of thousands of dollars.... It makes sense to go enterprise and follow a strict schedule. Most servers are rated for 5lan5 year turn over - who in their right mind will spend 10-20k on a server then retire...
  14. Computer type

It's marginally faster. For ripping you want a faster single core performance... I believe the 7950x is 7-10% faster single core than the 5950x. They both excel in multi core... If it's just a rip station Intel is a bit better for onyx since it beats and on single core performance.
  15. Computer type

Ram won't make a difference, cpu will though. Onyx is limited by HD / cpu above all else. Most licences do 2 rips at a time, I have 4 and my ram never goes past 8 gb
  16. Computer type

Haha. We've been hit twice. Another sign shop down the street 3 times... Once they get in, its very hard to keep them out unless you start over... They sit and wait for months, so if you restore a version days / weeks before the hit... Theyre still in. You have to identify how they got...
  17. Computer type

.99 a TB... look at mr money bags over here! Google Drive... $15 a month for unlimited :roflmao: J/k. While I use it for backup, I go into it knowing its not meant for backing up... and have other backup solutions. I have a secondary NAS Backing up nightly....and sending the data to a...
  18. Computer type

Same, except I stuck with 64 gb ram.. ddr5 is crazy expensive. Amazing how much faster even a 5950 to a 7950 is. I never understood buying just the minimum, time is money ... We do a lot of 2-3gb wall murals, the time it takes to rip them now is almost half, it pays for itself in a month...
  19. File server question

Depends what you do with a Nas. Transfering 1 gb, or 10 gb takes a bit of cpu - backing up files takes a lot because it compares CRC values of files youmhave vs what's uploaded. If you're using it as a strict file server, the cpu isn't bad... But then you're buying a $1000 device and limiting...
  20. File server question

Truenas is good. You might need to tinker with it a little bit for setup... but you do with a NAS as well. It's pretty much NAS software on a PC. For $800 I'd build a nas... it'll always be better! We have 10ish people in the office - Typically we have 2 graphics artists accessing /...
