  1. What's your opinion on Signlab?

Great for cutters and 2d routing, engraving...not so good in the printing/rip department...may have improved with the last upgrade but I find a high-end rip (we use ErgoSoft) will smoke Flexi, Photoprint, Signlab's RIP and you'll get the very best out of your printer(s). It would be nice to be...
  2. "Problems" with printing on translucent material.

The best way to print a solvent backlit graphic that has the equivalent look to a waterbased print is to print on backlit solvent film (not translucent vinyl) with high number of passes using one of your existing profiles ( but be careful of how the blacks lay down...usually too much) and...
  3. Hand made Windsor settee I'm working on.

As time goes on and I get to see more of your talents, the more I'm impressed.
  4. Clear Vinyl onto Glass

Make sure you only use clear vinyl with solvent based adhesives in a wet install on glass. Aqueous based adhesives will turn 'milky' during a wet install but will eventually turn clear after the adhesive thoroughly dries out.
  5. Panel Saw

Same experience here. I only ever used a vertical panel saw a few times but it turned me off them for life. May have been a dud and I can't even remember what make it was. Bought an Altendorf, perfect repetitive accuracy - downside is it takes up a hell of a lot of room and $$.
  6. Five or more Pantone colours

In theory CMYKOG will 'match' well over 90% of your srgb color space and 94% of Pantone Solid Coated Colours...I haven't came across a PMS or any colour for that matter printed on the Epson that wasn't an acceptable match apart from the metallics and such of course. I know it may sound like BS...

  8. Where do you guys make your money?

Signage - neon, illuminated, fabricated, routered, engraved, cut, painted or printed. That's what we do...diversify and expand, get your fingers into all the pies.
  9. what do you think of this match?

Pretty good! We have a ErgoRip, Summa 160 and GBC dual heat along with the GS6000's but more or less similiar setup as what you've described and are very happy with it. I've seen the output from Colorburst and looks pretty good to me. A heated top roller in the laminator is all I could...
  10. how to remove neon

    Amen.
  11. Five or more Pantone colours

Print on our Epson GS6000's, relative/relative and name the PMS colours in the .eps or .pdf file so the ErgoRip picks them up ans replaces them from it's look up table...do it everyday.
  12. Mutoh Repair Services for Tanzania Africa

    Hi Zoltan Welcome from Sydney:thumb:
  13. GS6000 Tracking

Sounds like paper skew where the take up reel isn't square and level and pulling media sideways as its rolling it up. There is an adjustment on the take up. Sit an empty core between the media and the printer as well, to keep some media from buckling as it enters the preheater area. I print...
  14. Emergency rush job

Did you use invisible ink or something?
  15. Cutting aluminum on a router

A squirt of detergent in the mix helps stop the mister from gumming up with oil. Even just plain water/detergent mix works well with aluminium. +1:thumb:
  16. Small PVC Letter help

A little late to the conversation but if you d/sided tape it, no vac or dust extractor and most importantly in my mind is to check your toolpath start points. Most letters are ruined by not optimising the start points. The tool gets jammed at the end of the cut and trys to lift the letter and...
  17. Got our GS6000

Same story here...and no problems at all.
  18. Epson GS6000

"Ive been using one since July 09, it hasnt failed or even skipped a beat and the print quality is the best Ive seen." Same experience here and we'll have a second one up and running this week.
  19. Adwords: Money for nothing or works?

It's not just customers clicking ...it's your competitors as well...sure, Google will track your clicks and may reimburse you 1 or 2 clicks... I personally know guys in a different industry/profession that are paying $40 - $50 a click and positive that their competitors are doing them over a...
  20. Unsupported color measuring device

You remember you have to save the data as a .txt file? Works in version 8.1...I just tested it.
