"Refurbished" heads are a myth. You can flush a head and put a new manifold on it but that's about it. If the piezo crystals are damaged or the physical nozzles are deformed/delaminated, there's no recovering.
This is one of the more common failures on this machine in my experience. The circulation pumps tend to have leaks like this over time. You could try opening them up, cleaning them out and replacing the broken ink line, or just replace the pumps. Not sure if Mimaki has come up with an upgrade yet.
The UCJV300 is a good, reliable machine, but a lot of people stay away from UV for wraps and mostly because solvent or latex is a proven solid solution for wraps. From what I've heard you can do wraps with UV inks but installation can be harder due to it preventing stretching etc. That being...
We get W9 requests from larger companies/customers and it's usually just to have our EIN on record just in case. I think they do it to verify your status so they don't get in trouble during tax season. Since we're an S-corp, they just file it away but if we were an LLC they might need to send a...
If ink is receding back up the tube, you most likely need new dampers and/or the o-ring seal between the damper and ink line is bad. The dampers are responsible for regulating the pressure in the ink line.
Make sure there is actually nothing in the file in that spot. Not even a white background. I know logical seek will skip feed direction on older Mimakis but they may not have continued that on your model as too.
It sounds like maybe the head is failing. Sometimes the variable dot function will malfunction and only allow a certain sized dot to to fire. So that would explain why it fires on the nozzle check but not more involved patterns that may use the variable dot function.
Make sure you got the wipers in the right orientation. If you put them in backwards they don't make good contact with the head surface. Sounds like ink is being left behind which would cause the contamination. Also, take your waste bottle off and hold it under the waste tube and run a cleaning...
I've sold many many maintenance stations and in my experience some make a lot of noise and others don't. It doesn't seem to affect the function most of the time. Mutoh does recommend greasing the gears on new stations as well which most people skip. So that may help. 3rd party stations fail far...
I've stayed out of this one just because we're in America and wouldn't be a good option for you due to shipping cost etc. But just wanted to add some info that may help. There's not a single supplier or manufacturer who will warranty a print head installed by an end user. That's the inherent...
Unfortunately in these cases "lifetime" usually refers to the life of the product/service and not necessarily your life. Judging by that article, you're probably hosed. Sounds like the guy who made it all work died and no one wanted to keep it going.
Solvent based white has never quite hit the mark in my opinion. Pretty much any UV machine will do better. The Mimaki UCJV300 is a good roll to roll option.
The best way to match colors between printers is making your own custom color profiles. Even printers of the same brand and model can print differently without calibration. Do you also send RGB files to the Epson? If not, try sending the CMYK file to Rasterlink. It might get closer for you.
