Sounds like you profile got hosed in someway. I have heard that about Onyx. I would just create a new profile, or else examine if something in you CM setting is set wrong.
Since this is basic a sign and wide format printing forum I am not sure you would find it very useful for anything related to signs, labels etc. One the other hand we have a digital press and a Slitter, Cutter, Creaser comes in very useful for a number of things. It is most useful for creasing...
From my experience with GF it is more of a manufacturing issue than storage even though these companies don't want to admit it. Reason being I have all my stock at the same place and in the same environment and only certain media has had that problem.
Both General Formulation and Ultraflex are...
One problem with the L360 is that it does not have the wiping roller that the L570 does. This would presumedly allow you to use vinyl that has plasticizer migration issue like the General Formulations line which can no longer be used on the L360 without printing problems.
How many passes?
I found the single lm/lc printhead pretty much useless under 10pass and that is even iffy depending on how much light ink was being used. You have to slow the printing down one way or another to keep from having ink starvation with the single lc/lm printhead.
I hear you. If it wasn't for rush jobs we wouldn't have any work. And now with the supply issues people are having to learn the hard way about planing ahead.
That is not true as the plasticizer migration issues that General Formulation has I have not seen with Brightline. GF may make some Brightline but the Calendared vinyls are not made by GF.
I not sure that isn't normal behavior with Windows. We have two Windows RIPs here. The Fiery EX-P 600 on the Iridesse Digital Press should not be as sluggish as it is but it has some of the same behavior as your describing. The wide format RIP is running ColorGate and has some of the same...
You need to find the overprint setting. Where Onyx hides it I do not know.
Is the original a PDF of a PNG? Not sure the RIP would read a PNG correctly. Better to save it as a PDF and check in Acrobat if it has the overprint set correctly.
Not with Latex.
My bad. I must have missed a setting somewhere when I tried it before. Then forgot that Preview doesn't show true output. Choose the process color 60C 40M 10Y 100K then map to "Black" (pure_colors) using the library.
I am printing with Latex 360 so obviously I want to print Black as pure 100K. File was given to me with 60C 40M 10Y 100K and I thought there was a easy way to do this with the spot color settings in the Caldera RIP but for some reason I can not get this to work like it does in ColorGate or Onyx...
