  1. Best Low Tack Vinyl Recommendations

+1 for Drytac Retac, their SpotOn is also great if you want really low tack.
  2. 4 Over Prices higher?

We use them pretty regularly. Their prices have been going up every couple months for the last 2 years or so. Some products are worse than others but across the board we've noticed it, found other trade printers for some products.
  3. Adobe CC pantone colors

https://www.ericforest.ca/backups/pantone/pantones.html So far so good with these
  4. Question Variable Data Printing - Wide Format

Onyx Layout Tool will do variable data, cuts down on RIP time if you do it in there. That being said we usually use InDesign
  5. Printing on frosted vinyl

GF Light Etch is only rated for UV and screen printing. Any heat will likely cause it to warp like that.
  6. HP 700 take-up solution

Square, I only cut the arc if I have issues feeding it. Reverse wound banner I find I usually have to cut the arc. But the process is basically the same I just tape the sides after activating takeup. And I just use 1 inch masking tape instead of vinyl to attach.
  7. HP 700 take-up solution

I forward the material just past the curing unit, attach masking tape to the center of the material, pull it tight straight down to see where to attach and add a little slack and tape it to the takeup core. Activate the takeup by spinning it and then masking tape on the left and right sides with...
  8. Pantone / Adobe copyright issues

Add all the pantones to your document swatches and export as a custom swatch library called "Definitely not Pantone swatches".
  9. HP 115 - printing issue head hitting the center?

I got the best results by printing on an Avery 2903 profile with the heat turned down to around 195 and interpass delay to make sure it cures. Though I was never able to get this stuff to print consistently on our 360. Have you tried the 50/50 profile they have here...
  10. vinyl recommendation for weeding small detail

I use IJ39, sticks to the backer much better since it's LSE and has no air release. Unlaminated works best.
  11. 3M Canada - who to contact?!?!?!

That's odd, I wonder if 3M just isn't providing it to Canadian dealers. Have you tried Mediatech (Quebec) or WRI Supply?
  12. 3M Canada - who to contact?!?!?!

Where are you trying to buy from? ND Graphics carries some of that stuff. You can send a message to 3M via their website and ask to get a rep, might just take them a bit to get back to you.
  13. Utility box wraps

Ask the client, we've done some where they put new ones over the wrap and others where we had to cut them out.
  14. Anybody use Mac?

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I was reading that it might be to do with the NAS SMB setup, that was gonna be my next attempt. Did you also find that Adobe products didn't run very well? The latest updates helped a bit but they crash a lot more than they do on the Intels.
  15. Papers and the L360

We used Magic PosterMax on our 360 ever since we got it, only recently used some Briteline paper due to availability. For the thicker stuff we used Endura C2S 18, though our supplier stopped carrying it. They all take a little work to dial in, lower heat and ink density but once they're...
  16. Anybody use Mac?

I tried this as well but didn't work for me unfortunately We have more PCs on our network than Macs, the Macs are just for the designers, some of them also have PCs.
  17. Anybody use Mac?

We have 4 Macs, one of them is the M1 chip and while it's fast, the computer has issues with our network. Disconnects randomly and when saving large files onto our NAS. The 3 Intel macs are fine, I'm tempted to return the M1 for an Intel.
  18. Illustrator Help

Might be set to overprint or non-printing, go to window>attributes and make sure it isn't turned on.
  19. ARLON SLX®/SLX+ CAST WRAP VINYL WITH FLITE TECHNOLOGY (Vinyl Failing)

I've tried using SLX for a cut job once, didn't like it. Then looked to see what their specs were for cutting it and couldn't find any mention of it. SLX+ they recommend letters at least 2" high. So I just don't think it's specced for cut graphics unless they are large.
  20. HP 365 Streaking

Yea, you can usually get away with it on most media if your profile settings are good, but the thicker stuff and banners I've never been able to print that close to the leader.
