  1. Crystallex?

My money is on this, this company has gone and given their own name to frosted vinyl so other companies can't bid on the same product.
  2. Construction zone sign material

A few years ago there was talk of a smooth faced coroplast for flatbed printing, but I've never seen it
  3. How best to install wide window perf????

why on earth would you wet install perf?!? non laminated perf is pretty much the easiest product to install, 0% chance of bubbles.
  4. Oracal Issues

Yeah I've never seen a vinyl manufacturer stand behind their product when it counts, ever, ever, ever. It sucks but that's the reality of it. The best you can do is lean on the supplier you bought it from, but unless losing your business will cause them significant financial loss I can't see...
  5. Roland TrueVis

They are emptied by vacuum pull. The bags have a plastic housing on one end that clips into a tray in the machine, so to change bags you slide out the tray, unclip the old bag, clip in the new and slide the tray back in. So far the machine has not asked me to agitate the ink.
  6. Roland TrueVis

The bags have an RFID chip in them, as of right now I don't think anyone is making a bulk ink system for this machine. Saying that, the ink is cheaper than the previous eco-sol max we used to use, and larger.
  7. Roland TrueVis

there are 4 heads in total. We are running dual CMYK, but LC, LM & white are an option, not sure if metallic will be an option or not in the future. outgas time is 1 hour from what my dealer told me, we have noticed the prints are much drier off the machine than our old VS-540. Also the...
  8. Jeep Grill drawing (CAD)

I doubt all jeeps use the same grill, a year & model might help narrow down the results.
  9. Roland TrueVis

We have one for about a month now, pretty sweet! Feel free to ask me about it if you have any questions
  10. Hp Latex 360 printer fumes

You are comparing a UV printer with a latex, of course there are differences. Our Roland VG-640 does not smell from either the ink or the media
  11. Solvent vs Latex.

I think the new Roland VG series would give the HP a run for it's money in the scratch resistance department, as well as print quality
  12. Need a fresh perspective for this next move

There are only 2 machines on the market right now that can do all of what you are asking (that I know of, correct me if i'm wrong) -Roland versacamm with the white & metallic option -Summa DC which is a thermal printer, similar to your edge. Most people do not get the silver ink option in...
  13. Solvent vs Latex.

We just got the new Roland VG-640 and so far it's a really great machine! the inks are supposed to be dry enough to laminate after an hour (they are definitely drier to the touch off the printer than our last roland) The print speed is great, I can print a 4x8 in around 10-12 minutes. The OEM...
  14. advice on software for this Newbie

I think what Gino was trying to say is that software/equipment is not the issue here, the layout you posted is just a poor layout and not something you should be charging a client for. You can buy the greatest plotter and software in the world, it's not going to save that design. For an...
  15. advice on software for this Newbie

I agree, and that's saying something, cause I never agree with Gino!
  16. Commercial grade silicone adhesive?

anyone in Canada ever seen Lexel? I've tried looking in the past and noone has any, I can get it on Amazon for $42 a tube if I want...
  17. My JV3 is still running good!!! No Word from Inkmed.cn

I didn't see the original thread but I wouldn't hold my breath,. I assume you paid by Western Union or something equally irrevocable. When buying things online, the old saying "if it's too good to be true it probably is" is usually the case. Chalk it up as a lesson learned and move on.
  18. lanham act

My advise would be to completely ignore it, I'm betting that they are just trying to scare her into submission. As someone else said, if they do own the copyright on the word "cupcake" than every bakery in the country should be getting a letter! At the end of the day, they have managed to...
  19. Wall Murals at Indoor Swim School

what about a product like Arlon DPF8000, which is a high tack vinyl.
  20. Rant: Idiot employees who convert all text into outlines

I only use brush script or papyrus in all my designs to avoid this issue all together.
