It's rules and laws like this that cause issues in the first place! If I open a new business and I know that the city is going to require me to bring every single existing element up to current code when I apply for a permit, that is a huge incentive to not get a permit! I'm not saying I'm...
Thanks everyone!
Andy, can you elaborate on this "poly strechy" material? do you know what is was?
If i went with velcro, do you think I would need to velcro the entire length? that is a ton of velcro!
I have a client who has a large hanging sign inside their store that they would like to put some full colour graphics on, the sign is 35' across and 4' tall
I've attached a picture of the sign, I havn't seen it yet, but am going on site next week to take a closer look. I was wondering if...
I agree 100%, pretty much every warantee is worthless, in the end it comes down to which company has more money to fight this, 3M or you? Don't forget that if they admit fault for you, they are setting a precedent and admitting fault to every person who bought that product, which opens up the...
There are quite a few people on the sawmill creek forum who have built air scrubbers for their laser engravers which should work as well

Do you have a Grimco in Winterpeg? If so, try their Tru-Stock stuff. I've had issues with pitting and fisheyes in the finish of the AluPannel brand stuff, but their house brand is so far flawless, it's also cheaper
BIG difference, we got some sheets from YMS one time and the aluminum was like tin foil, the boards were so wavy and floppy they were almost unusable.
We normally get proveer's house brand, I find it has less imperfections than the Alupannel brand, which is full of little imperfections in the...
Now that I know you are looking at some serious production, i would look into getting a flatbed cutter like the Summa F-series, it can contour cut the vinyl then completely cut through the backer for you completely unattended

Ok, if thats the case perhaps "decals" was the wrong choice of words, and yes i would agree you need some major equipment updates to handle that. Decals are relatively small.
Just a friendly word of caution, don't put all your eggs in this one basket. We had a similar project come to us a few years ago, thought we hit the jackpot with large frequent orders from 1 client, after a few months they stopped, they did the math and realized that with what they paid us for...
A decent plotter like a summa would contour cut those no problem
I disagree, we have a single Roland VS-540, and if you pre plan and schedule properly, the amount of work they can produce is amazing. ours doesn't run non stop all the time, but when we get large orders that I think is going to...
I still think 2 printers, 1 laminator and 1 cutter would suffice for that, depending on your workload with other work, you may need to hire someone to just focus on that client.
It sounds like once you have the designs done, they are all stock, in that case i would assign the files a item #...
That's going to be a very heavy sign face! Polycarbonate weighs around a pound a sq/ft, so not something you want to mess around with.
Install should be done with a bucket truck
Are you 100% sure it's not flex face?
