get whatever size you like, but keep in mind, the VAST majority of printable media is sold in 54" wide rolls, yes it can be cut down, but you are still paying for the whole roll. For example if you get a 40" wide printer (if such a machine exists) you would be paying for 54" material and...
  3. Best wall vinyl for use in medical facility?

we were told we cant use phototex or other fabric based products in a hospital because it can't be properly cleaned, they need something they can wipe with a disinfectant. Avery 2611 fits the bill, I have a 4'x55' graphic up in a hospital hallway now for close to 3 years, full bleed print...

I agree, don't over think it. We made a 4x8 MDO sign a few years ago for a client, put it on a sled and weighed it down with sand bags, it was up for over a year. One day we got a letter from a personal injury lawyer, turns out someone had slipped and fallen on our sign and injured...

  9. Application tables

We got the entry machine, it maxes out at 54"x8.3', no light table, no side rails. it does do a very good job of mounting vinyl to substrates, and laminating short runs. I can train someone on it in less than 30 minutes and they will be applying perfect prints all day long. it can be sued...

  11. TRELLO JOB FLOW BOARD, I need some advice please.

I tried Trello a few years ago, it seemed like a good system, however there were some issues that prevented us from running with it. 1. the biggest one, not everyone at our shop is computer savvy, and some don't sit at a computer most of the day. 2. I couldn't find a way to move a single...
  12. Application tables

No doubt it's a great machine that is better than a laminator for mounting, but as a rolls roller user, there is no way it's more productive than a flatbed applicator, cheaper yes, but not more productive

  15. Whenever I don't access the hard drive for 45 minutes or so it goes off-line?

Can i ask why you are using this setup and not putting the HDD directly in a computer? We had a NAS at one point for our server, we found it to be incredibly slow! even a cheap computer with 3-4 HDD's inside will work 1000x better than a NAS as a file server.
  16. Pricing ballpark

I've got a job to quote that is stumping me a bit. It calls for around 2500 sq/ft of 3M electrocut 2 mil vinyl to be installed on the interior side of Windows to form a large design. Panels are about 4'x12' all one colour (white). The architect has provided all the artwork in vector format...

Home depot here sells a 4x8 of 4 mil coro for around $35 I think. I sometimes get people come in for it, i tell them $30/sheet, plus $5 for every cut, if we are busy, they will need to come back later, if not I cut it on the spot. oh, cash only, it buys my lunches for the week.

  19. Power Rates Per Kilowatt Hour...

I think pretty much every manufacturing company is going to be weighing the benefits of moving to another province soon. Add to that our new provincial pension plan and pretty soon it will be too expensive to operate in Ontario.
