  1. No Snowflakes or Bleedinghearts need to post

While I agree with you that the public has a right to know, they often don't release the names of victims for various reasons. So why not limit the info on the shooter? Police/Government often don't release info on many things and when a FOI is released there is stuff that is redacted. So ya...
  2. No Snowflakes or Bleedinghearts need to post

THIS..... These people should have their names and all details hidden from the media. There shouldn't be reporters rushing to get the name or details of the person out either. The only people that should have any idea whats going on are the investigators and family of the victims.
  3. Was wondering...

I have no issues with electric vehicles. That being said, right now I don't see my self buying one till the tech gets better, which it is, just 5+ years away. While we've made huge strides in the Lithium Ion battery, I'm waiting till solid state batteries are in production and at least a...
  4. Flexi color on gradient when mirrored

So it could be the type of color. FLEXI gradients are frustrating to work due to the type of color used in the different types of gradient option. One way I've handled this in the past. If it's a vector file and gradient, open in Illustrator and find the gradient color values and make solid...
  5. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

While I have no input on the price..... is this guy going to wrap his race car with IJ35.... and unlaminated IJ35 on top of that?
  6. Any lighting tips for weeding vinyl - especially white - I can not see cut lines

So make sure your blade depth and pressure are dialed in. Use a heat gun and go over cut vinyl. The heat will cause the vinyl to shrink just a hair allowing you to see the backer color.
  7. Educating clients in what is and isn't high quality artwork.

This is a never ending battle. I've noticed that the best response is I can re-draw it, it's $75 an hour with a 3 hour minimum. Thats when they magical get the file or they tell me to re-draw it. After I re-draw it, I create .eps, .pdf, .png versions in color, and black and white. I than...
  8. NEVER BUY A ROLAND!

As far as I know every printer and material warns you to not to use non OEM parts and inks. Doing so voids any warranty on the machine, quality output or material failure. Unfortunately the burden of proof is on you to prove you didn't use 3rd party inks. I wish you good luck with getting...
  9. Window Perf Question

It could have been anything... how cold does it get where the van it at? Where I live we don't warranty window graphics and are very upfront with out customers that due to the climate window graphics have a very limited life span.
  10. Just trying to get a cohesive idea of what I might be getting into with matte vehicle laminate here...

The issues with matte laminate that I have found... If you use a torch or too high heat you will cause it to gloss. Depending on the manufacturer it can tint the color. Over time it is much more likely to show wearing. It's harder to keep clean.
  11. Question When exporting from coreldraw as jpeg to rip and print in flexi, prints purple ans not blue

I guess still not sure why your saving down to a jpeg. First if you have to use a raster file I would try an uncompressed format such ad .pdf, .tiff, .png. Look at the 'blue' color and what the RGB/CMYK values are. I had a client that made a 'blue' on their screen but when it printed it was...
  12. Question When exporting from coreldraw as jpeg to rip and print in flexi, prints purple ans not blue

Why would you be exporting as a compressed jpeg? Are the native files raster or vector? Are you using Flexi design or Flexi production? Are you sure that the color is blue? Is your screen set up properly?
  13. Adobe Photoshop Gradient Question

So the issue would be the 'layer 1', it looks like a clipping mask. You should be able to release the clipping mask and than add a new layer in between them and than reapply the clipping mask to that new layer.
  14. Suggestions Part Time Pay ?

I think it depends on what your looking for. I would say that someone that has no print experience but a solid design skills and capable to learn the industry software $15-$18 to start. Why not look at hiring a full time person?
  15. 751c with latex

Yes you should be able to. You should be able to adjust the temperature, passes, ink density, inter pass delay, almost everything. There are several youtube videos on how to do this with your model of printer.
  16. Is there a cheaper alternative to phototex?

3M IJ35 is a basic temp material. I wouldn't use it for anything that needs to last over six months. I wouldn't even compare it with Phototex in any way shape or form other than it has an adhesive.
  17. Whats the best material for Bumper Stickers?

You probably want to stay away from calendared material as it will fail pretty quickly. So stick with a cast material and just charge accordingly.
  18. Need Help Flexi 12 hp pro edition for latex

I would double check your settings. Also why would you need to hold onto a file that long in your production manager anyways? We clear out the production manager every few days.
  19. Buying new computer - Windows 10 or Windows 7?

This issue I'm finding is the software is often requiring you to go to 10. First I would check to see if the existing software your using will work on 10 or if you can run it in compatibility mode.
