  1. Sandblasting or Routing Corian

We haven't routed it, but have had plenty of luck sandblasting it, in fact I sandblast a personalized design in Corian for wedding presents all the time. I know a guy that does corian countertops. He saves the part they cut out for the kitchen sink and gives them to us. They make good little...
  2. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

I can dig that, but I feel like in this case the fonts have the proper amount of contrast, italicized or not. And if what you said is true, then why would it be ok if neither font were a script but both were italic? So let's say a serif font for the primary copy and a sans-serif font for the...
  3. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

That's a good suggestion thanks. I might do that.
  4. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

Apparently not. because there are a few examples on your website that have scripts and italics used in the same logo. But either way, you don't wonder the reasons why you follow that rule (well sometimes anyway:wink:) It is a stand alone element, just because I posted an example with the...
  5. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

Well when you search for "you shouldn't breathe air" you get a lot of search results too. But that probably isn't a rule I'll want to follow. If you know anything about search engines and I know you probably do. It searches for your phrase first but if it cannot find that exact phrase, it...
  6. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

NEVER mix scripts and italicized copy? That's a new one to me. Hey I'm all for learning new things, but if I'm to follow that rule in the future, it would be nice to understand the logic behind it. The only time I've ever heard anything like that is that when you use the italicized version of...
  7. Self Portrait Designed in CorelDRAW

I don't work with the mesh tool for this type of work. I never have. I create a lot of layers and use gradients and transparencies. Everyone does it differently and every artists is going to have a different style. I like to show off that this is vector, so you will see the lines in pieces...
  8. Self Portrait Designed in CorelDRAW

True that. This I know. But I don't know of any that will automatically pause when you step away from the computer for a little while. That is what I would love to see. I've requested it as a built in feature to CorelDRAW, I would love for that time stamp to be saved with the file, but I'm...
  9. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

The customer was ecstatic, we have all sorts of projects planned for the future using the new layout. We landed on this: And here is the simplified one color version: Thanks for everyone's input!
  10. Self Portrait Designed in CorelDRAW

I honestly don't know how much time. 15 minutes here, 10 minutes there, mostly at home while halfway watching TV. Since it wasn't a paying job I couldn't afford to spend larger blocks of time working on it, so it becomes difficult to keep track of time. I get asked questions like how long so...
  11. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

Well of course I did. You don't get paid for your efforts? I guess that's one way to do it.
  12. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

Pretty much every logo we create has a black and white version. This logo is no exception. A lot of time I do the initial layout in black and white anyway.
  13. Artwork Release fee

If you are being hired from the get go to design a logo or brand than I agree with Dan, but if you were hired to first design a sign or vehicle graphics things change IMHO. Lets be honest. Dan's business is set up a bit different then most sign shops. People come to his company specifically...
  14. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

I would agree that the logo type part of the logo could use some fine tuning, but I disagree with where my efforts should be focused. I'm not yet sold on the blue oval "to", I'm waiting to meet with the client on a few things before I fine-tune that. I disagree about the main and secondary...
  15. Self Portrait Designed in CorelDRAW

So I was asked to send in content for some ads for CorelDRAW X7. They wanted me to include a profile pic to go with it and said that some of the artists were using self portraits designed in CorelDRAW, I sent in the one I have as an Avatar here that I also use on our website and on social...
  16. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

There were too many elements at play and I think I have her convinced that it wasn't necessary. When it's all said and done it may end up being a 2, but for now I think I have her sold on getting rid of it. The blue oval shape may end up changing too. Maybe a double sided arrow? I'm waiting...
  17. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

The customer came in wanting us to recreate the first design for vehicle lettering, they left having hired us to design a new logo. I put a new "spin" on it. :ROFLMAO: I'm sorry that was pretty lame. Back to work I go...
  18. Corel X5 contour problem

    LOL man that's weird.
  19. Corel X5 contour problem

It shouldn't be doing that, It doesn't for me anyway. Have you zoomed in real close and inspected the text with your shape tool to see if there are any extra nodes. Perhaps the corners are like that for that font/text but so small that you cannot see it unless zoomed in. If that's the case...
