I think it would stick much better on metal instead of the glass, if it needs to be that thin. I've stuck extremely thin 3551RA on doors and it stayed on. But on your design if you thicken it just even a small amount I think it would hold much better on the glass.

On the SG heads, there are rubber seals on top the print head on the white plastic part. I don't think you can change them, they seem to be molded into the plastic.
At least the SG, and VG/2/3 series roland have a firmware dip switch you can set to unlock service mode permanently without any special software. Not sure about the LEC2.
