  1. Need Advice on routing sign foam...

I am working on a "sample" / gift for my brother in law who owns a tattoo shop (and has done more than his fair share for me and my wife), and I am routing his logo out of an off cut piece of signfoam 4. There is some fine copy, and inside one of the letters it snapped off while routing...
  2. Credit to a company I do not know

I have been on both sides of this coin. I have worked for the small shops doing the work, and I worked at a large company requesting the surverys. I absolutely hated that job. I had to find the cheapest company and hold them over a barrel. I was once told that one of the companies had lapsed...
  3. Lighted Pan Face Help, Please

+1. Even though it's translucent, the black will detract from the red. Save the headache of trying to line it up, and the added cost.
  4. Does anyone recognize these post colums?

I was asked about making a duplicate sign for a second location and duplicating these columns. I did look at them and they are a faux column...but I have no idea where to get them. So does anyone recognize them? Thanks in advance, Mark
  5. More "Romanceing the Brush"

    Wow...just wow. Absolutely beautiful work.
  6. Lighted Pan Face Help, Please

Most embossed faces are painted, or screen printed prior to forming.
  7. Lighted Pan Face Help, Please

I use 8500, I think.... I'm not near an oracal color chart. 1st surface is the only way on a white face. If you think you need close to half a roll, it's cheaper to buy a full roll. If you only need a small amount, you can order by the yard from fellers. And when you apply the vinyl...
  8. Lighted Pan Face Help, Please

Go with the white face. A clear face is cheaper, but spraying it and getting it even can be a pain. When they are sprayed, it's done in front of lights, with translucent paint. I use translucent oracal vinyl for my lit faces.
  9. Working on a Smalts Sample...photos inside.

I didn't prime this one. Sign foam 4 is supposed to be smother, and they say no priming is required. However, when I painted them, I put a light misting of paint on them at least 6 or 7 times. And I did that twice for each sign. I wasn't happy with the color the first time, so I went back and...
  10. What's your "Go To" sign supply store?

Welcome to the board from not too far from you on the Eastern Shore. I buy my sheet goods, paint, and some hardware from Harbor Sales, and vinyl from Fellers. They have warehouses all over the country, and one there in B'more. You have NGlantz there in B'more, and they carry sheet goods...
  11. Substitute for Rolco Quick Size?

I have used Dux with good success. I get mine through www.framemasters1969.com
  12. Working on a Smalts Sample...photos inside.

A while back, I was contacted by a customer to make a small sign. I completed it, and unknown to me, the customer owns a financial service in St. Michaels, MD (lots of rich people)... They contacted me about creating a new monument sign, and I immediately think about Peach Tree foam craft...
