I know there is a 5"x4" oval sublimation tile available, and you can probably find other sizes, so you can sublimate them with no top coating. If you have the tiles already, you can actually sublimation coat them yourself and then sublimate them.

How old are your foils? Sometimes they can get a little crumbly like that if they are old. Also, look at the used side of the foil you just printed and see if those spotty patches match what you see on the used side of the foil. If the foil looks like it printed more completely then it didn't...

If you check the manufacturer's websites of the products you are using, they usually will have good information regarding what settings to use and how to best work with their products. Your settings will be very specific to your particular machine and if you really want to know what works then...
