  1. HP Latex 800W

HP just started rolling out a Enhancement Kit for the 700/800, were all the frequently failing parts are replaced with redesigned parts. Even printers out of warranty can be upgraded at HP's expense.
  2. Loss of precision

As a Summa tech for 30 years I can tell you, that 3 mm in 1500 mm is not the norm. If it's a Opos job, length calibration has nothing to do with it. Check for clean tracking marks on the media back first. I had a problematic medium printed on a HP 800 that was so deformed, that it was impossible...
  3. HP Latex 365 color consistency

There is a preripped test print in the 300/500 HP's to test the machine. If this print comes out neutral, your ICC(Rip) is the problem.
  4. color problems with Roland VS3

With TR2 ink, it's important to shake the inks from time to time. So enable "shake alert" in submenu. If the pigments have already sedimented, your colors will be off to a certain extent, even if you start shaking now. As soon, as you install new cartridges, it gets better. This sedimentation...
  5. Roland sp300v ink draining

Sounds like your pump needs replacement. Before the caps are closed after a cleaning, the drain tubes need to be empty. Otherwise ink gets siphoned out. (Drain tube is lower, than ink cartridges)
  6. Printer/Cutter vs. Stand-alone Cutter

I allways recommend separate devices. I was installing a Summa flatbed at a customer this week. They were running 17 Roland VS and 4 Summa S2...
  7. Dye Sublimation Heat Press

This can happen on every press. To eliminate this, use a paper treated with hot glue. You need to remove it, while still hot, but under the sublimation temperature.
  8. Roland VersaWorks 6 - adding a cutter

As I said, it supports only devices supported at the time the main version came out. SP300V was discontinued looong before V6 came out and it isn't a cutter(only) . Main versions V1-5.x, VWDual, V6) I just looked up the supported cutting devices in V6: GR-X40, GR2-X40, GS-24, GS2-24...
  9. Roland VersaWorks 6 - adding a cutter

Versaworks only works with somewhat newer Roland cutters. If it's the same, as with printers, support is only for devices sold at the time, the VW main version came out. WV6 runs with USB as well. (BN-20 for example)
  10. TCPIP in control panel

Try this... now i'm at my PC with all the good old stuff;)
  11. Need Help My ol' Roland SP-540v can't sense the left pinch roller. What kind of sensor is involved?

This is most likely the flat cable going to the cutting head. It's a optical sensor on the back of the tool carriage.
  12. Need Help Roland vg640 Service call 0380 (0030 )

I have seen it before. Try to do upgrade the firmware to the latest version. (The problem is, while it empties the tray, it also sucks ink from one head. If the dampers are not refilled in time, this error shows up. It's a firmware bug, that should be fixed in the latest version) If that doesn't...
  13. TCPIP in control panel

There also is the ARP PING method, if you can't get hold of the Nettool software. There is a document describing it, that was supplied with the SP-540V.
  14. VS540 new head, bad nozzle test

Do a choke cleaning first. )Only available in service mode.) I service VS since they were introduced and only had one case, where a tube in the choke valve had a tiny hole.
  15. Roland LEJ-640 in CMYK mode (4 heads only)?

This thermistor is only read from either head1, or the black head. I had a customer LEJ running with disconnected head5 for two weeks without error message in normal mode. (Fixed it yesterday)
  16. New Roland VG2 - VG3 - SG2 - SG3 USERS -buyer beware, you cannot fix your own machine.

When you look at it, neither Mimaki, nor HP lets the user service their products. The service modes are protected in both of them and/or you need software, that isn't officially available to users.
  17. Trying to match XR-640 with a HP FB700

Sorry, but a in depht explanation would take too long here. (It's been written by others...) You also need a decent spectrometer and software. If you are willing to invest in that, you probably invested some time to learn the basics of profiling. There are books and online guides.
  18. Need Help Roland VS540 - Print Head or Electronic Issue ?

Looks like a electrical or timing issue. The linear encoder strip should definitely pass. Your test prints seem to have a feed problem. Check the feed encoder disk for ink stains and clean it. If a complete channel is missing and ink is flowing out the damper, when you suck with a syringe, or...
  19. Roland LEJ-640 in CMYK mode (4 heads only)?

I'd say the printer works without the heads installed. The cartridges need to be installed for the chosen mode. Either CMYKWhWh or CMYKGlWh. I sometimes do tests with disconnected heads and it works. But I'm always in servicemode then. So I can't say, if it works in normal mode.
  20. Trying to match XR-640 with a HP FB700

That's not that easy. Of course you need to profile both. But you also need to limit the density and chromacity of the "stronger" one to the abilities of the "weaker" one.
