  4. Would you do it again?

As I see it... Vinyl and paint are both all but about done. Design isn't appreciated with any real dollars any more. Neon is being hedged for christmas lights. Even electric and hi-rise are being squeezed, and cheapened to the point of not being worth the risk or investment in most of the major...

  11. Radically new website service - looking for opinions

Tim, If I understand your offering.. this isn't a lead referral service (like CMD, or Dodge Reports) where you search out and provide the leads to a bunch of similar service companies for a fee. It is more like an "app on tap" where your monthly fee buys me a ready to use system (from pads of...
  12. Ghosting on backlit sign face

Moze.. Not that it matters here, cause Windex won't take that yellow off for the OP anyway. But have you ever damaged acrylic or polycarb with just Windex? Tell me what exactly happened cause that would be a surprising first for me. I've persoanally used a bunch of solvents and cleaning...
  13. Radically new website service - looking for opinions

Tim, I'm kinda lost. Who took the photo of the sign outtage? ...The sign guy who uploaded it and was waiting for a chance at the client contacting him through the site? ... or someone else who is awaiting a finders fee? Can you elaborate please if you have time?
  14. Our biggest foam sign yet

S'coo, Very good job. Like it. Regarding price... I started applying Dryvit (acrylic stucco over styrofoam) in the very early 1980's. We applied many many acres worth for $11/s.f. Centuries proven, real clay brick was available installed at the time for about $6/s.f.
  15. Ghosting on backlit sign face

Maybe Windex with a laquer thinner chaser, but never a Virgin-Windy. But anyway, PSBC.... Did you get that $7 bottle of Greased Lightening and save that $600 pan face yet?
  16. Ghosting on backlit sign face

I can only tell so much from a pic as far as how bad it is but I would seriously scrub that with "Greased Lightening" available at most auto zones or advance auto parts. Wipe with alcohol and reletter. I've performed some miracles with the stuff.
  17. Printing b&w line drawings

Thanks folks. Yes Signage I really do. We create line drawings and also are emailed many drawings from others that we use for permit procurement purposes. They are just basic cad drawings of buildings, signs, site plans, text, schedules, dimensions, etc, black and white line drawings, and i...
  18. Printing b&w line drawings

After miles of prints, my old hp design jet 550 (36"). Just bit it. Any recommendation for a cheap dedicated 36" printer to be used for Printing b&w line drawings for permit use only? I prefer roll feed and a cutter, and affordable cartridges of course... Any ideas?
