  1. Falcon Jr. Magenta not printing

If it is not a faulty damper, O ring seals or leaking pipework it might be a leaking manifold. As these use the very old Epson DX2 heads I do not have first hand knowledge of this. On a further note it could be a bad seal on the capping station. SC
  2. Mutoh vj 1204

I bet the pins on the smart card reader inside the machine has some bent contacts with the cartridges being taken out and in. I would purchase a set of 4 card readers and replace them all. I have replaced mine twice now as they are very fragile. Please note due to the material the pins are made...
  3. Mutoh VJ 1604

You are not making much sense! If you are using an old head this may be also blocked. If the head is blocked it is very difficult to see if the pump is working. Or the pump could be blocked from not being used. I think the first thing you should be doing is checking the pump is pulling ink...
  4. mutoh prismjet salvageable?

NO It's a simple answer as probably the very least it will need is 4 print heads, dampers, head cables, caps, pumps, flush and new ink carts. Not to mention little bits and pieces and lots and lots of patience and time. This is an old machine after all and has been superseded by much faster and...
  5. 3M ControlTac, screen printed with liquid lam?

We do a lot of repairs for a national company here in the UK (British Gas). Their whole vans are wrapped in this type of material liquid laminated 3M controltac with no air release then covered in paper application tape! It is an absolute ball ache to fit and kind of defeats the idea of a wrap...
  6. Problem black JV3-160sp

+1 on this comment as they do go brittle over time. Why have you touched the dampers? SC
  7. ValueJet 1614 bidirectional problem

Yes you can set the adjustment up in the main menus. But most RIPs bypass the media settings (unless set not to) so using this to set up the adjustment will not work. Is your print test perfect as even with a couple of blocked nozzles on a bi-directional low resolution print you will get this. SC
  8. Problem black JV3-160sp

I would also order some caps as the seals can go hard and the seal is the important part when trying to get it to pull ink through. Can you pull ink through the other colours with a syringe? SC
  9. Problem black JV3-160sp

Is the pump pulling ink through? Are all the pipework properly connected? Do you have ink? Start with the simple stuff! SC
  10. Signlab9.1 patch issue

I had similair problems when I upgraded to Ver. 7 years ago. And since then I hate updating as it always causes issues. But due to upgrading all of our computers to Windows 7 pro 64 and i7 processors I thought it would be a good idea to download and install the latest build. Seriously this is...
  11. Signlab9.1 patch issue

Surely some of you people who have upgraded to Signlab with Cadlink selling it off so cheap will have updated their programme. I have more holes in Build 0.6 than Swiss cheese! Someone must be having issues? SC
  12. WTF is wrong with project managers for construction companies?

I have worked in the sign trade for 31 years now and always, always the signs (internal or external) are one of the very last things that a business organises. It never shocks me any more when a customer storms into my shop on a Friday afternoon wanting their shop signed for the grand opening...
  13. JV3-160SP - Magenta not pumping out capping station

Swap one of the pump lines over and see if it will pump it away. Digiprint sell these very cheaply if you find it needs replaced. SC
  14. Mutoh VJ 1304 Bulk ink from SAMINK?

I don't know about Samink but we have been using Jetbest inks through our VJ1604 for about 3 years with no problem. This looks similarly packaged as Jetbest. SC
  15. 1614a valuejet printing issues

This is almost the same as what happened to ours. Except ours was still printing the image sent except with a magenta band through it. The F2 fuse blows to save other more sensitive parts of the machine. It looks like the head has come to the end of its life and needs replaced (printheads last 5...
  16. Graphtec JX1130 - Hope it was worth it

No is the simple answer. Do not even think about getting it printing as the materials are expensive and do not work that well outdoors. As for use as a plotter, Yes they were a good plotter but I think it will prove difficult finding spares for this machine. On another note maybe some of the...
  17. 1614a valuejet printing issues

The board is situated under the machine. It is were the network cable plugs in. It is hinged at the front of the machine. There are a lot of cables to disconnect so I would take photos and label them. On a subnote their is no way you can solder the fuses in without removing the complete board. SC
  18. JV33 woes

A nod in the right direction is to get a tec into fit a new head and maintenance station... At least! Unless you know what your doing, your average sign dude/mechanic cannot repair these machines unless you have had a lot of experience. SC
  19. 1614a valuejet printing issues

If you look at the attached picture the F2 fuse is located at the very top right inbetween the 3 capacitors (black things) and the single capacitor. They are really really small (I have seen bigger grains of sand), in fact to call these fuses is a joke as I expect fuses to be replaceable fairly...
  20. JV33 woes

Double check the head is sealing on the capping station as I have found that badly mounted heads can be an issue. Digiprint is your best bet for cheapest price for the DX5 head. I would bite the bullet as 5 years is the maximum life span for one of these heads. As for installing different heads...
