This machine has had a lot of time (more than it's worth) and quite a bit of money spent on it.
Everything is or was working correctly.
Up until till last weekend everything was perfect (or as close as you can get).
The cleaning procedure is like new.
You cannot print any colours when a head is...
Hi
Yes I switched it on...LOL
UK Speak.
No head strikes at all.
Has just been running test prints etc.
It hasn't done any work yet since setting it up working again.
All I wanted to know is if anyone had figured out what creates the faults to create the errors.
And if changing any of the...
This is all up and recommissioned again and has been running for the last two weeks.
I have just spent some time getting it printing properly.
It has new cables, caps and pumps. Printhead test was about 95% on all heads so was good to go.
Knocked it on on Saturday and it came up with the dreaded...
I am just about to put my old JV3 back into the print room and get it making some money.
Problem is I knocked it on this morning and it is giving an error on the light cyan channel!!!!
Now I have tried all my spare heads and all of them are dead.
My question is what goes wrong with the head...
By the looks of things the head is not sealing properly against the cap. I would clean all the dried ink around the head.
For starters I would replace the cap top and make sure the pump is pulling through as the drain pipes can get blocked on the cap.
I have found that you have to deal with any...
It could be the head cable failing.
The Maintenance Station maybe is not sealing against the head.
Also how old is the head as if over 4 years old or more it will probably need replaced along with MS and head cable?.

Designers go out of their way to make things harder or as near impossible as they can!!!!!!
As soon as I get a job from a designer or archtitect you can bet you should instantly triple your price because of all the B.S.
I mean they use the most obscure and unobtainable letter style and make sure...
As for scrap vinyl.
Up until last year I would give all my scraps to local schools as they always were welcome of it.
Last year I was called by one of the schools we gave to and asked whether we had any offcuts or scraps they could have.
I told them yes come and get them.
A week later I got a...
I contacted Inkmill last week and this week and I am getting no reply.
I understand the ink is more for the heavy industry heads but I am getting it for nearly nothing.

Fuses are not only a protection for items they are a marker to say their is a fault somewhere.
I learnt this the first day of being an apprentice electrician.
Mind you the amount of faults I have repaired since with just replacing a fuse even after the person whose item it is had already changed...
I have a chance to buy a lot of ink for my JV3-160s which will keep me going for a long time.
The question is will it work in my printer?
I have a bulk ink system ready for this so should not be a problem.
The ink is made/sold by Inkmill and is called Bio solvent Ink.
This was originally made...
I had a similair problem last week and thought I had fried the firewire card in the printer.
Turned out to be the firewire cable.
I think the cables can be as fusy as the cards so I would try a new one.

Thank You all for the information and pictures/drawings.
I bought the item from Digiprint:-
http://www.digiprint-supplies.com/jv3-head-adjust-lever-assy-m006034.html
It fits into the indents as VanderJ states but the screw holes are not in the correct place.
The item does state "Mimaki...
I am on with fitting a head height adjuster on My jv3 160s which was missing when purchased. Does anyone have a picture of how this is mounted? I have searched for hours and not found a single Image. The mechanical drawings for this machine are no help either.
Thanks
