  1. Is there any one man shop making around 500k$ in annual sayles

I'm guessing you guys are talking in gross sales... not profit? It'd be interesting to know how much profit, or roughly how much based on business size.... for instance you 2 people shops that make 500k... whats your take home? 2-300k? and those of you with 10 employees making a million...
  2. Need Help Graphtec Skipping Second Row of Registration Marks

Are you using cutting master or onyx? If it's a one time thing... Could be something weird with the print. Put some pre mask on it and draw the line with a felt... Doesn't have to be perfect and it'll still cut accurately. If that doesn't workm.. rotate the whole print and rotate the cut...
  3. Vinyl Backed Acrylic with tape

Yep. We've done hundreds that way. Just use a decent white permanent vinyl and w decent laminate and you'll be fine. Just stay away from removable
  4. Vinyl Backed Acrylic with tape

Use a permanent clear... If you use a removable it'll bubble under the tape. We do it all the time using 8518 and vhb tape. For the white we use any true cast white... Usually 7725, but it's not a blockout so you can see shadows. So we use an Aslan blockout which isn't a cast, but it's worked for us
  5. HELP! Window Perf hates HP LATEX

I buy it from laird. Not sure if laird in us carries it or not
  6. In-side window applications

We use ij40 clear plus Avery HP white for indoor graphics that aren't meant to be up for 5+ years. For long term... 3m 8150 + 7725
  7. HELP! Window Perf hates HP LATEX

We have used briteline a lot on our latex. The trick is very low heat, and high passes so it can cure properly. That usually fixes any lifting / walking. It's not so much the thick liner... It's all the holes provide uneven tension when it gets heated and causes it to buckle. Our goto in...
  8. window security film install

One thing to also consider is that if you are not certified it might be a liability issue. One of our clients wanted it also, 3M would not even sell it to us and advised we speak to our insurance to see if it would be an issue to install it... Which of course it was, they even went so far as to...
  9. Epson S80600 suddenly stops printing and starts feeding out the material

Epson will feed media when there is no print data, that suede up printing about when there is a lot of empty space in your prints. My guess is it's the USB, if try switching to networked as it is heaps better these days
  10. Print quality problems with 800W - Any other owners having major issues?

Really? So it's prelevant in all 800 series printers? I'd send your file to someone on here with it so they can do a test and see. If that's true... That's pretty crappy. Our 560 doesn't have any issues. I like latexs, but they seem to always take 2 steps forward and one step backwards with...
  11. signs 101 website issues?

Sounds like a recipe competition to me! Sure, shoot them over and I'll give them a try. I just bought the wife one of those over priced fancy auto mixing KitchenAid bowls... So this will be perfect for her ;)
  12. signs 101 website issues?

Canada doesn't have snicker doodles :( and I have to been able to get to USA for 2 years now to get some! I'm Going to a conference in Columbus this Friday... Layover in Texas, going to be eating in n out and all the foods I can't get in Canada for a week, it's going to be awesome!
  13. Window Graphics Failing

Hows the smoke up there in kamloops?! No issues here. We have window perf installed for years and its not curling.... We also dont edge seal it and never have any lifting issues. A quick spec check says window perf is good for up to 82C... And while it sure feels that hot, it's nowhere near...
  14. signs 101 website issues?

if you refresh the page, those errors usually go away... its something to do with the login server not being able to authenticate you so it throws an error. Refreshing "relogs" you in and gets you a new cookie.
  15. Colors Pantone Epson S80600

go into your rip and select the red and see what its trying to print at. 0/100/100/0 is the "reddest red" but I usually throw in a few percent of black to make it a deeper red and not a bright one... bright red gives a bit of an orange look to it. 0/100/100/5 gives us a nice coca cola red.
  16. Need Help how to deal with cuts for long murals?

One more thing to note. I don't use a summa... But the graphtec take up looks identical. You're going to waste about 4 ft of material attaching it to the take up... Not a big deal of you can pause your cut and tape it up after 4 ft, but if you're trying to stay crinkle free that's not an...
  17. Need Help how to deal with cuts for long murals?

If it's decent material a crinkle will just heat out... We don't even worry about if it crinkles. We have 2x 4x8s infront of our laminator (the one thing with no take up reel... :( ) If it's a sensitive material where crinkles won't heat out like window film.... What we've done is put a 4x8...
  18. Wall Vinyl Install

If they prime it first, wait a few weeks for the paint to dry and Cure to the wall. Make sure they don't use an easy wash, low VOC paint. Do a small tape test and make sure the wall paint doesn't come off with regular masking tape.... If it does then you'll probably pull down half the paint if...
  19. Reprint for free?

Do you have a legit proof page they sign off on.... Or was it just a photo and a "Like this?" text? If you dont have a Proof page that states once its approved theres no changes, I would make one and take this as a lesson as to why. Below is what our proof looks like. It lists all the...
  20. Anyone have a line on getting a roll of 3M 8518?

seems 3M is 1 month away from making more.. They do have a ton of 48.5" in stock (At least in Canada). I'd ship a roll to you, but it'd likely be too expensive :( I'd suggest asking if they can bring in a 48.5" roll as they seem to be readily available on a few sites.
