i forgot to say this: ONCE THE DRILL/SELF TAPPER MAKES THE HOLE........the THREADS OF THE SCREW WILL .......make the hole a little bigger.......yes.........and if you take the screw out.......the drill tip going back in has no metal to cut as the hole is bigger(just a tad) then the drill tip...

stick with TURPS or MINERAL SPIRITS. i have in the past mixed LACQUER THINNER in one shot....but only when its really cold....does make paint flow...
#1.........if you were looking for faded old paint look.......then you shoulda painted it that way rather then trying to knock it back now. anything you do to the paint is also gona effect the door paint. so then your gona have to age the WHOLE CAR!!!

LEVEL is only the start point..........with a level.......IF YOU FEEL the need to adjust ok.........sorta like the FORD VAN SIDES.........roof runs down hill to back.........center body line runs up hill to rear....lettering in between, find as level line ADJUST......TO EYE.........

DID YOU PAINT IT? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE PAINT IS? IS IT GLOSS, SEMI GLOSS OR FLAT??
vinyl wont stick to FLAT LATEX PAINT............
your best recourse in this is to make sure the wall is is either gloss or semi...
