Sounds like your rollers are messed up. Since upgrading to a better laminator probably isn't going to happen , try tightening as much pressure as possible so that the middle touches.

Are you trying to break a weld with one? I mean how much pressure are you trying to use? Scrapping should be easy and only firm pressure. I've never had an issue with the angle.

These things are a beast, I purchased two, but going to buy a half dozen more. Used them about 100 times and haven't broken or anything yet.
Be aware that rivets SUCK. Add a few extra hours of installation to your quote because of them. Full wrap is easier than doing cut vinyl, because transfer tape doesn't play nice with them.
