  1. L25500 Cleaning Kit Replacement

Ours is asking to change it since 1 week into owning the damn thing. Its annoying....needs to be changed in a couple weeks here. Just waiting it out and keeping an eye on the kit.
  2. Grimco has lost my business!!!

  3. same job, different brokers

Ive had that same situation a dozen times. Dont pick favs. Just quote same exact way...pricing...etc. It happens enough, you know whos going to get the job...and you typically always win out!
  4. Our new HP 850

Noticed some issue today with a "Soft Banding" printing a Limey green. Using the Cast Vinyl 100% as a base point, we ran in 6 pass Bidi on some HP cast media, looked like Arlon XRP actually. First time we've seen this. Any ideas? Hot as heck in the shop though...
  5. Grimco has lost my business!!!

Well...not every vendor is a one stop shop. Ive learned that and I dole out my orders appropriately....3m stock here. Banner stock there....obscure items I might need to this and that place. If one place doesnt have it, you look at your next vendor on the list. No reason to complain that...
  6. 3m 8518

Grimco said to me they were pursuing this one quickly and pushing it up the chain of command. My guy at the PA branch now....used to be proveer....is really concerned about this. I think 3M has some answers to give for sure not just to us, the end user but everyone else in the supply chain.
  7. Grimco has lost my business!!!

Mike...you're correct in that. Boxes clearly labeled...etc etc...check stock when arriving...nuff said there. In Vinylman's defense, it would have been proper of Grimco to simply say we would be happy to make the switch for you. Win the client....defuse the situation. Now...onto the devious...
  8. 3m 8518

 My rep at Grimco was more upset than I was. Instead of 33% more free...its 33% LESS now!
  9. Pretty hot in the shop today!

Thanks for the heads up...have to see if they'll work here in our shop. Try renting one....and if works buy one. HELL of a lot cheaper than a big AC unit!
  10. Pretty hot in the shop today!

In NJ then ...wouldnt be good with the humidity we get.
  11. Pretty hot in the shop today!

Ok....I see the difference. How would it affect us in a printing environment though? Adding moisture to the air....hmmm
  12. Pretty hot in the shop today!

The port a kool is an AC unit?? huh???
  13. 3m 8518

Just checked a roll we got in from Grimco....short...uggh. Emailed my rep and asked about it. Not their fault....but if 3m is shorting like that. Do we have to be aware of ALL the materials now and really keep on it?? That would really suck!
  14. 3m 8518

Rick...did you get that from Grimco or Pitmann?
  15. Question for users of Grimco's KEY banner material...

We use some Pitmann Duratex banner vinyl here with good results. The matte is Dead Flat and glossy is nice. Price point isnt bad either....might be worth a looksee for ya.
  16. 3m 8518

My buddy got shorted on 3m IJ 380 with matching lam kit from Fellers. Nobody would do Boo for him.....We print and match up rolls ourselves. Will def. keep an eye on it! thanks for the heads up!!
  17. L25500 higher than previous head failure rates

Noticed today...for the first time a "soft" banding....on IJ 180 CV3 in the deep blues. Heat at 60 Cure at 100 8 pass Bidi.
  18. Cleaning boards for flatbed printing

Sams has 70%...doesnt work as well. I like the 90% ISO...sorry said ISA earlier...from Walmart. We clean them out as well.
  19. Cleaning boards for flatbed printing

The Palight pvc we were getting has been really nice....as far as I can tell, just swiffering and done. Feed into the QS and off we print.
  20. Banner Reinforcement Tabs for Corners

I would use some HH66 and add some vinyl in to cover over the tear and then try the tabs on the corner with the grommet. I think its more of a trial and error thing at this point depending on how badly the grommet ripped the banner.
