Ours is asking to change it since 1 week into owning the damn thing. Its annoying....needs to be changed in a couple weeks here. Just waiting it out and keeping an eye on the kit.
Ive had that same situation a dozen times. Dont pick favs. Just quote same exact way...pricing...etc. It happens enough, you know whos going to get the job...and you typically always win out!
Noticed some issue today with a "Soft Banding" printing a Limey green.
Using the Cast Vinyl 100% as a base point, we ran in 6 pass Bidi on some HP cast media, looked like Arlon XRP actually. First time we've seen this. Any ideas? Hot as heck in the shop though...
Well...not every vendor is a one stop shop. Ive learned that and I dole out my orders appropriately....3m stock here. Banner stock there....obscure items I might need to this and that place. If one place doesnt have it, you look at your next vendor on the list. No reason to complain that...
Grimco said to me they were pursuing this one quickly and pushing it up the chain of command. My guy at the PA branch now....used to be proveer....is really concerned about this. I think 3M has some answers to give for sure not just to us, the end user but everyone else in the supply chain.
Mike...you're correct in that. Boxes clearly labeled...etc etc...check stock when arriving...nuff said there. In Vinylman's defense, it would have been proper of Grimco to simply say we would be happy to make the switch for you. Win the client....defuse the situation.
Now...onto the devious...
Thanks for the heads up...have to see if they'll work here in our shop. Try renting one....and if works buy one. HELL of a lot cheaper than a big AC unit!
Just checked a roll we got in from Grimco....short...uggh. Emailed my rep and asked about it. Not their fault....but if 3m is shorting like that. Do we have to be aware of ALL the materials now and really keep on it?? That would really suck!
We use some Pitmann Duratex banner vinyl here with good results. The matte is Dead Flat and glossy is nice. Price point isnt bad either....might be worth a looksee for ya.
My buddy got shorted on 3m IJ 380 with matching lam kit from Fellers. Nobody would do Boo for him.....We print and match up rolls ourselves. Will def. keep an eye on it!
thanks for the heads up!!
I would use some HH66 and add some vinyl in to cover over the tear and then try the tabs on the corner with the grommet. I think its more of a trial and error thing at this point depending on how badly the grommet ripped the banner.
