  1. New Computer for 2012

Just looking at the frequencies isn't really a fair comparison (3.2 vs 3.6). Neither is the number of cores. I am not an AMD hater, but the fact is that Intel has a considerable leg up right now. It has been a while since I would even consider building an AMD system. The last few...

  3. Shot in the dark

Timothy, Are you sure that they are SAS? I just did a quick look and that model number shows up in several places as SATA. If they are indeed SAS, I still don't understand why you would have a hard time finding a chassis unless you are stuck using a certain "sled". Unless I am missing...

  6. Loving the end of this year

December is usually our best month of the year. Due to the Section 179 deductions, this is looking to be a banner month. I would urge anyone not familiar with the deduction to take a peak: http://section179.org/index.html. I am always looking for ways to work the tax man!
  7. FJ Cruiser Top Troubles...

I saw this on one of the FJ forums! Crazy stuff and the fact that he wasn't seriously injured is amazing. I didn't wrap the top of my FJ. First, the white top is a signature part of the FJ heritage. Secondly, I was worried that it would bake on and become difficult later on (I guess that I...

  11. Verizon Droid Phones...Which One to get?

I experienced the same thing out of the box. I very quickly learned how to use the included Power Control Widget and I have great battery life now.
  12. Verizon Droid Phones...Which One to get?

I love my Droid Bionic! I didn't like the battery life until I learned to use the Power Control Widget. Now my battery seems to last all day and then some. Other than that, it has been trouble free. I think that we get the Ice Cream Sandwich update too.

  16. hard drive cloning software

Vista can create an image, but not all versions have it. The same for Windows 7. I think that it needs to be business, professional, or ultimate. I know that this doesn't apply to the OP, but many Western Digital drives have free imaging software available for download. As stated above...
  17. Windows 7 "User Control Account" settings

Manage add-ons from the tools menu. Click on each add-on and disable one at a time (or multiple) until you find one that changes the behavior. You have to restart IE every time you make a change. If you use no add-on mode, then you still have to find out which one is causing the behavior.
  18. Windows 7 "User Control Account" settings

I agree with this. If it is unusually slow, an add on could be the culprit.
  19. Windows 7 "User Control Account" settings

That is what I checked first since you mentioned it earlier. It is instant.
  20. Windows 7 "User Control Account" settings

OK, for the sake of argument, I ratcheted mine UAC all the way up to the top and rebooted. Everything in IE is still instantaneous. There isn't a 1 second wait anywhere to be found. Moving it down to the bottom does nothing either. I am dead serious here, it doesn't get any faster than...
