Have you looked into Kapco? We use them for a bunch of our laminates, mainly on calendared vinyl like IJ35c. They make their own laminates and vinyls, we get free shipping on even one roll of laminate.
I can't speak to the burning either but I'm also based in South Dakota so not near the...
We tried pricing by time, but it wasn't working out. So we have a square foot charge, it's not perfect but its enough to scare jobs you don't want and enough to make it worth your while when you have a bunch of small items that tie up the machine for an hour. It's about $30/sqft.

We have been able to reach out about tweaks here and there that we want and they get back to you in under 24 hours.
Through the...
We have a VK300DHS, its a great machine and the ability to grow as your business needs (add heads/speed)
We will print on blanks here when we have one offs, but like said above we nest up a full sheet and print and route.
We've made some jigs in the past, but never to fill the bed, more random...
We've been using 180 for most vehicle applications.
We added 280 to the mix because of bragged ease of use and installation speed up. We did a few wraps with it, still like the 180 better.
We do use 175 for flat installs - Trailers/Box Trucks even with rivets. We've had really good luck with...
