    Use regular tree pulp made paper. Use elmer's school grade glue and smear it on the back and use water soluble marker pens. They are 100% safe. In fact, your whole project is practically edible.

    :banghead: There is no ink which is considered completely eco-friendly. Even Algae Ink (available with a water-based and soy-based carrier) while comes close to it, still contains chemicals that are harmful to you. Just not in the same quantities as many of the others, but they still are there...

    Consider how long they will last in the elements and sun. I would imagine you'll get a third the life with inks vs. translucent vinyl.

    How 'bout the band director asks your gal to take the pictures for him and show him the difference. Ya either pay for you to clean them up and still have half/a$$ed pictures or pay your gal and have it done right. Tell him to stick to his music and you'll all get along just splendidly.
