A few years ago we had a contract with a cell phone screen protector company. It was the same logic. These were rolls of 24" wide material. HP wanted us to get a LX800. Can you imagine two 24" rolls on a 126" machine? And losing 10' per load? And taking 15-20 minutes to load each one...

I'd be willing to bet that some of them are even better than the OEM. We had great luck with Solaris and Triangle. Both worked really well. I'm no chemist, but it seemed to me that both inks were "hotter" solvent wise and bit in to the media better. I guess the moral of anything third party...

This is not accurate. When I had several Rolands years ago we ran Triangle and Solaris w/o any issues, and have documented several times on this site as to how good they were for us.

They've been saying this forever. When we went to the launch for the Latex 3000 in Barcelona they were really close. That was a few years ago. But someone over there sure believes in it

Anything to do with flatbed seems to be held up as they're trying to get the latex flatbed sorted. The 750 was such a weak attempt to take a really old technology and try to make it at least a little better (those machines were originally colorspans which HP purchased). I wouldn't wait for HP...

Hot air doesn't seem to work. We had the T300 and found that on two sides of each banner it would ripple. The other two hems would be flat. We ended up sending it back after they told us this was normal.

As I said in another thread we've got the paperwork with a tentative July delivery date. In the meantime we've purchased an additional 570 and are looking to get another in the next week for this very reason. We've yet to see the samples we're looking for to make sure our bases are covered.

Either get a flat bed cutter such as a zund or find someone who does (probably the easier, cheaper option)
