  1. Can I get an opinion on this Test Draw?

It looks like a cap top and possible pump issue for sure but you won't know for sure until you install those parts. You could get them in and it only improves a little or it completely fixes the issues. I don't see any electrical or physical damage indicators though.
  2. uv printer

We had a defective UV machine out of the box a while back where the head carriage was up too high and wouldn't allow us to lower it. It still printed fine but due to the improper height, it coated the entire inside of the machine in yellow ink dust. Makes me wonder how much ink dust it makes...
  3. Easy to match colors with onyx?

Flexi has a tool called the "Color Mapping" tool. You pick a Pantone color and then it prints a grid of the color adjusted in cooler and warmer directions. You pick the one that looks closest to your color and it replaces that from now on. Takes some of the headache out of matching. I wouldn't...
  4. uv printer

Good: Cures virtually immediately, prints white better than other ink types, multi layer printing for cool effects, no heaters, ink is cheaper, can print direct to substrates, low to no solvent content. Bad: Laminating may require a heat assist laminator or liquid lam, clogged nozzles are...
  5. Anyone know of any Environmentally friendly print or cad cut vinyls out there?

Oracal had a PVC free vinyl for a while but I can't remember the part number. Cast vinyl uses fewer pthalates so I guess that's a little more environmentally friendly.
  6. [Mimaki UCJV-300 160] Patchy Print

I almost feel like it's just a profile issue. Have you tried a different 600x600 profile?
  7. REG marks on clear vinyl

It is a weird one. It should work just like white vinyl as long as it seems to be printing nice and crisp and looks like it does on your white vinyl. I'd try lowering the sensor setting. Maybe the clear is glossier and it's getting too intense of a reading. Also, try cleaning the sensor with a...
  8. REG marks on clear vinyl

Has it worked before or is this the first time you're attempting the print/cut with registration marks?
  9. REG marks on clear vinyl

Does the clear vinyl have a white backer? If it does, it should work just like white vinyl. If it's completely clear, you might try to put something white behind it while it's reading the marks. Maybe slap a piece of white vinyl behind each mark.
  10. SAI Enroute and Windows 11?

Try running as administrator and in compatibility mode. . . . . if Windows 11 still has those things.
  11. Mimaki jv33-160 error 3 42v

It means the board isn't seeing 42 volts from the power supply. Usually it's the main board being damaged or a bad head/head cable causing the issue. If you know how to test the power supply, I would check to make sure it's putting out 42 volts but don't do it unless you know how. In my...
  12. Roland soljet SC-500 carriage separation error

When you do the limit position, make sure the head is locking and not just in the home area. You have to push it to the right very slowly until it clicks and then stop. If you push too far right, it will unlock. Usually I hear the click and push it to the left to confirm it's locked before...
  13. Need Help Ink spills when pass is high.

I assume this is solvent? Try turning up the heat. Also, try to use a profile that is created for the amount of passes you want. If you're using the same profile and just adjusting the pass setting, it can mess up the ink limits and put too much ink down.
  14. Need Help Nozzel test cyan prints black, magenta prints organge

Looks like you're working on an SP300 or similar. You're fine to just leave it capped and don't need to clear the system out. If solution didn't come through after doing the soak, I'd say there is a clog for sure. Usually it's in the little y connector but it could be anywhere in the tubes below...
  15. #adjust

Go into the regular menu and scroll down further than you would normally and you will see all the # menus. Make sure you're booting while holding function and remote on some machines or func1 and func3 on others.
  16. [Mimaki UCJV-300 160] Patchy Print

Have you tried an air purge yet? I usually start there with patchy printing. Are you getting any errors?
  17. Need Help Mimaki printer

I agree. I would also flush the pump with a syringe and cleaning solution to make sure it's not clogged.
  18. crossover cable required?

If you have an OS newer than windows Vista, the OS figures out the connection for you and you can use either.
  19. Fish eye

Plasticizer is an ingredient in the vinyl that helps keep it stretchy and supple. If the material is old or has been exposed to high heat, the plasticizer comes out of the vinyl and contaminates the surface.
  20. How much more ink does a 12 pass use than a 4 pass?

A single channel on a DX7 print head has 180 nozzles. A single pass on that head achieves a resolution of 180x180. 2 pass 360x360, 4 pass 720x720. So the head naturally prints 720 in 4 passes. When you up it to 8 pass and keep the 720 resolution, in order to keep it at 720 the head fires fewer...
