  1. Zelle scams keep popping up

Filling out the PCI compliance paperwork is one of the most frustrating things to do. And at the end of the day it does literally nothing to enhance security because there is no enforcement at all!
  2. Where can I find these signs?

They look like Kroy acrylic sign frames.
  3. How much more ink does a 12 pass use than a 4 pass?

Technically it should be exactly the same. Say your profile is 720 x 720 and you go from 4 to 12 pass. They both print 720 x 720 but they just divide it into 4 and 12 passes respectively. Higher passes make it so banding is less apparent at the cost of speed. I usually prefer to make sure the...
  4. Mimaki CJV150 Ink setup

It requires a complete ink system flush and then you just need to re-route the ink lines behind the cartridges for the 8 color setup, change a couple parameters to tell the printer it's new ink setup, and then fill it up. Since you're not using white or metallic, the odds of it succeeding...
  5. Flexi with Roland VF2 640

Does Summa have a stand alone software or an Illustrator/Corel plug-in? Most plotters I work on have one or both of those things and allows you to print with any RIP and cut with the Summa software. But I understand why you would want the ease of just using one software.
  6. Question Help with head missing channel

Normally when a single channel doesn't fire it's almost always an ink flow issue but since you received the 085 error, it could be electrical. The 085 error is a head heat error. The head is heating up and it's usually because there is a short in the circuit heating it up. The machine tries to...
  7. Need Help Anyone using Vertelith with 1641SR-P? (Need profiles bad :))

Sorry to hear it. I haven't been trained on the new printers or software yet so I can't help much. If it were me, I'd push the dealer to help more or see if you can contact Mutoh directly. They used to speak to end users but don't anymore but in your case, you might want to escalate things.
  8. Suggestions Recommendations for all around virus/email/malware/ransomware etc. protection?

Use a secure password manager or at least change your password every 90 days. If you use an email application like Outlook or Thunderbird, it doesn't make you login every time you want to get your email. It does it for you. Too many people leave the same password on their email server for 10...
  9. Need Help Anyone using Vertelith with 1641SR-P? (Need profiles bad :))

Go to Mutoh's website and hover over, "Support". There will be a drop down menu with, "Public FTP." Click that and then navigate to, "Printer information and Manuals," and then, "XpertJet," and then your model. It will have a profile folder with a whopping 2 profiles in it. Not much but hope it...
  10. CJV30-130 Cross contaminating colors, but wait there's more!

You can use the memory board from the old head. Saves a little for sure. Thanks!
  11. CJV30-130 Cross contaminating colors, but wait there's more!

In my experience it either happens randomly, due to old age and high use I assume, or it happens after a flush. Sometimes it's just too hard of a flush but other times it's the membrane already being weak from age and the flush tipped it over the edge. Unfortunately it's not the manifold. The...
  12. SP 540V Sum error

Make sure the new board has a battery installed. I believe I've run into this issue before and that fixed it.
  13. CJV30-130 Cross contaminating colors, but wait there's more!

Unfortunately that means the head is permanently damaged internally. Each channel is segregated from the other by a membrane. When it breaks it allows ink flow from the other channels which is why the solution came out of the other nozzle. It's also why the ink is contaminating.
  14. First Impressions / Help Request with 1641SR Pro

Did you or the dealer set it up? As far as the fuzziness goes maybe the head alignments haven't been done or done properly. These machines rarely come from the factory in perfect alignment. Other than that, get with your dealer and have them address the issues. That's their job!
  15. Mutoh 1204vj need help

Go into service mode by holding the up, right, and down buttons while powering on. Once it boots up, scroll to the Adjustment menu and hit enter, then scroll to head slant and hit enter, then scroll to head slant 2 and hit enter. It will print a a set of black lines, a set of magenta lines, and...
  16. Looking at getting a printer

Take a look at the Mimaki UCVJ300 (printer cutter) or UJV100 (printer only). They are UV based, have white and clear ink if you want, and they are solid machines.
  17. What are "Presses"?

This is what I did before entering the sign world. I've thrown thousands of pizzas in my lifetime. Can't imagine why a press would be any better honestly.
  18. What is the cause of this shrinking Laminate?

For sure. Arlon actually used to, maybe still does, sell a kit of calendared vinyl with 2mil cast lam for vehicle graphics that aren't a full wrap. The cast lam helps stabilize the vinyl.
  19. Need Help Roland Sp300V over spray on prints

Post a nozzle check but that does seem to be a failing head. Could be just deflecting nozzles though. Have you tried a head soak yet?
  20. Mimkai JV33 Capping Station Adjustment

A temporary fix that I have used in the past is to shim the slider. Basically I cut the plastic handle off a swab and taped it to the part of the slider that comes in contact with the head. It pushes the position of the cap over to the left a little and should allow it to seal. That will at...
