Clear material is clear but the adhesive is a bit fuzzy/hazy so when you look through it you can not see clearly through it because it looks fuzzy; where an optically clear material has optically clear adhesive so when you look through it you can see right through it as if you weren't looking...

Correct MDO and crezone are the same product, just depends on where you get it from. For install either method will work the same as the other. It just depends on how much you want the sign to protrude from the wall. Chaz
