I did figure it out... with my setup SCs50670/onyx 10 once the file has finished ripping right click on the file in the Que and select edit -> printer settings. In there is an option to enable multiple layers. I can print up to 5 layers (mix of cmyk and white). As Corwin said i forgot the enable...
I think you need to do your homework a little better before making a statement like that.

scroll to the bottom... rated for up to 3 years unprinted (typically 18 months for printed but its...
First of all, what media/lam (if any) are you using? Some are only rated for less than a year being short term promo perfs. From what I have seen there aren't too many long term perfs and the ones that i've seen/used are 3-4 year life.

The prints are straight (they follow the edge of the material). When I attached to the take up I put 1 pc of tape in the middle and attach to the core that way. I have done it where I attach to the take up while printing (to conserve media) as well as pulled the media through, attached to take...
I've always had this issue from day one with this printer (epson s50-670). With long runs (40ft or more) the material moves back and forth on the take up roller (almost like a zig zag when its rolling up). Currently printing a large job that is a continuous print the entire length of a roll...

I've used the contravision 60/40, 70/30 tons of times. Contravision is our go to perf and have had great success. It's not the cheapest but its rated 3+ years outdoors but we've had some up for longer.

Just checked my IJ 35-10 roll and it doesn't have the printed markings on the liner. Also my core stamp looks exactly the same as dasigndr's photo. Don't think anything of it. We buy from a large distributor and are on good terms with our 3M commercial rep here and havent had any problems or...
Practice practice practice.. if there is a bevel we will cut on it. Not saying that there isn't the odd mishap but the speed to cut on the bevel makes up for it. It is a tricky thing to get the hang of but once you do its much faster and leaves a really nice clean edge.

If your cutting on the bevel of a flat polish piece of glass the olfa knife is your best and quickest. We use the 9mmSS blades and cut away. Do this all day every day as we hang tons of frosting (avery, 3M, macal, gen form, hexis). Cutting straight on the bevel is the quickest way, its all about...
Try using inkscape as an alt. Its a free download. I use alt programs all the time (Affinity designer and photo) when i have issues with files.
As a tip for anyone that is using an older version of Adobe (AI or PS) if you have a file that was created in a newer version than what you have and...
Try opening it in a different type of vector program (corel, inkscape, affinity, etc.) and see what it does. If you can open it in one of the other programs save it as a new file and open the new file in adobe.

As Gino said, start letting the nephew take on more responsibilities. If you're worried take him with you on installs and show him the ropes and then let him start doing all the installs and you just watch him then once he has got an idea you can let him go out on his own to install and you have...
