Attitudes
I have noticed the GENERAL feeling with some of the posts I read - I don't read all of them - just the ones that may pertain to something I may do one day, but I have received nothing but helpful advice and direction to my various posts and am grateful to all for the info - now - I...
Trailer wrap
Around here in NASCAR country you would be lucky to get around 9K for a trailer wrap.
These guys are beating each other up to get the team haulers. They are larger than a standard 53' trailer - but the good ones have no rivets.
There's also a fair amount of quoting on 3M and...
Scope
I use a Beta Industries Color Viewer I have has since my days of offset prepress.
You can see into the future with it if you put the magnifier on top - but the straight lens works fine PLUS you have the ability to apply color filters to the CMY which makes it alot easier to see the print...
Does anyone else out there have a Mutoh Blizzard 65?
I have a brand new one and when it prints - its a screamer at about 300 ft. per hour at high quality.
When it prints...
My issue is that recently with every type of media I am running - the head is hitting the material pretty...
Alaska
Was many, many years ago that I was there... but fairly sure i would have remembered someone going 23 MPH. Do remember going bowling ALOT and hitting a moose in our SAAB, well and the C130 crashing in our backyard at base housing...
Gold rush
Are the media outlets all in cahoots to push Palin on us in the near future?
Why are there all of a sudden all these shows that feature Alaska?
I lived in Fairbanks for two years and - yeah - the aurora is cool, but apart from that its a dump.
I just don't see how we have gone 50...
Real estate signs
I very rarely do coro signs. Its the newsprint of this industry and it's like self-adhesive vinyl - anybody in the sign business can do it.
If I do quote it - I quote such that if I do get the job - then I will make money for the effort and then I usually get some guy who...
Reps
Perhaps I think too much or my expectations are way too high... but is it wrong of me to expect that my vendor sales reps know more about their products than I do?
I had a guy call me from (unnamed company) that sells equipment for them and he had no idea what the equipment landscape...
ROlls
Have a vendor partner who has one and he does vinyl decals and vehicle graphics almost exclusively and he loves the thing. I take some stuff over to him for lamination and mounting and it is quick and easy with the RR. It will put material on some pretty thick media, so 60mm sounds right.
Non Compete
Just to follow up...
I have come to many of the same conclusons that many of you have and I have also submitted to my business attorney to A) review B) offer negotiable stances on some points and C) come up with a responding document that prevents them from sharing my prices, my...
Have a new customer that requires the signing of a Vendor Agreement which in essence is a sort of legal guarantee that I won"t go after their accounts and if i do there are repurcussions.
I understand why they think they need this - but do I need this as well. Here's my point - if i sign this...
Banner
Yeah - this is an overhead street banner, so Alumacore isn't an option.
My other thought was to just sew in velcro strips and provide same vinyl banner material with new date and velcro on back. I am in NC and the are in FL, so using cut vinyl isn't an option.
I already explained that...
Art
the art is simple white text outlined in Illustrator with vector white logo at top.
Thought about cut vinyl and would probably work great if it was applied to front of acrylic, but since its face applied to the back it needs to be single surface or there will be adhesive voids and look...
Yeah...
I just got a request for some 18' long banners that the customer wants to have the ability to change the date each year and their brilliant idea is to sew in a clear vinyl "pocket" and slide in the new dates with 2mm PVC each year. Banners only stay up for 10 days each year.
Trying...
Changeable date banner
Yeah...

I am an inkjet guy and don't have any experience with thermal type printers and am wondering if you can use thermal output for a backlit application.
Basically - is the output (black) opaque enough to block light like a duratrans will?
I have a small face-mounted backlit that is black only...
