  1. What's a good contour cutting machine?

Have you tested the fc9000? It’s spot on for me. I can do 150’ without it losing track of where it is. Can’t compare it to summa since I don’t have one with a take up... But I can't imagine it getting better than this. No complaints about the accuracy of the new graphtec.
  2. Laminator Roller Cleaners?

Most laminators (If not all) have an eye to prevent peoples fingers from going into the front. I dont know of any that have one in the back... I know at least on our seal theres a gap between the roller and the metal that a finger could slip into. I'd say working from the back is worst! Small...
  3. Laminating Paper

Seal uses a plastic core - Our machine is pretty old, and the inside of the core is getting worn... its been on my to due list to replace it, I'm hoping I can find one that works. Now I have a layer of tape on the inside to keep it tight... it works but eventually wears out, pain in the ass...
  4. Discussion Rack or holder you made

We have a few of these - I have one thats 2 wide 10 long for overlam, 2 wide 5 long for "finished / printed ready to vinyl", and 2 racks that are more vertical and holds 15-20 rolls each...cant find photos of the rest though. Pretty much everything is on wheels!
  5. Onyx question.

For me.. When switching from one printer to the other, if you have a lot of stuff in holding it'll crash onyx. Onyx is pretty glitchy when running multiple printers.... Which sucks because it's a nice rip. What version are you running? Onyx 19 comes with printer isolation.... So each...
  6. Just In FireSprint Fast & Free

Aw man, I don't see Canada listed at all... :P I feel betrayed! I guess I'll be sticking to our double-the-price wholesaler #1, and triple-the-price wholesaler #2 options! I went to get a price on a banner from a Canadian wholesaler... usually it's cheap shipping. They wanted $96 shipping on 1...
  7. Onyx variable printing for yard signs

I stand corrected.... Lots of nifty stuff in the layout tool. Kind of weird how they don't have any of these options in Job editor.
  8. Onyx variable printing for yard signs

I don't believe onyx has a way, but It'd take about 30 seconds to setup in illustrator if you have it.
  9. Tiger King

I couldn't make it through 5 minutes. I really don't see why it's such a hit... I get everyone is stuck at home eat hung Netflix..... But that show?! Come on.
  10. Just In It's Coming...

Make sure to sneak the word "Canada" in the announcement somewhere....;)
  11. Need Help applying without bubbles

How big do you need? https://www.ebay.com/itm/39-1000MM-Manual-Cold-Roll-Laminator-Vinyl-Photo-Film-Poster-Laminating-Machine/332729816377?hash=item4d783e1539:g:HSIAAOSwYNVdJuyX I was assuming you're not mounting 54" wide prints and just mounting into regular signs. So this is 39"...
  12. I need help on how many yards I need to wrap vehicle

It's a one person job. However to wrap a full vehicle in a color change, you need tons, and tons of practice. Something flat wont be too tricky, but you'll probably waste as much material trying to wrap a bumper perfectly as you would doing the rest of the vehicle... It's not something you...
  13. FC9000 + Take up reel review

The FC9000 has a barcode reader. It doesnt matter which way you put the roll in, it'll auto read and cut in the right direction... one of the main reasons I love the 9000. And since it rolls itself up... all you have to do is switch the empty spindle with the full one, its pretty convenient...
  14. FC9000 + Take up reel review

I don't mind doing all kiss cuts then switching to perf. What I wish they'd do is instead of a screw... Have a clamping system where you can just swing an arm out to clamp it in or remove it and put a new one in. The fc9000 screw is smaller than normal. Normally I untwist and slide the perf...
  15. HR Dept says we're not "essential"

We got 3 letters from our vendors giving us a essential support document. One from an emergency aircraft company... One from our local natural gas company and one from a telecommunications company we do business with. All have declared us and got us an exemption the same day.... We're not in a...
  16. Need Help applying without bubbles

Is this just for substrates? Buy a manual laminator for $150 and you'll lose 99% of your bubbles. If you're hand applying with non air egress vinyl.... You'll likely always get bubbles. Look into a big squeegee or a manual laminator
  17. FC9000 + Take up reel review

Buy one from your supplier. All you have to do is unscrew the bar holding the arms in and add it... They say you need a tech because you have to unscrew something, but it's user installable for sure.
  18. Troubleshooting a monster Latex 370 and three bad new printheads

The only difference between the 360 and the 370 is it uses bulk ink. In USA / Canada they will not let you upgrade the 360 to a 370.... However outside of the country you can buy the bulk ink kit and install it, so it's entirely possible. Are these three heads ones you just purchased? Or have...
  19. FC9000 + Take up reel review

Oh, one thing I forgot. If you're used to a graphtec, you'll want to punch whoever engineered this one.... As you're aware there is a fast button on the graphtec so you can move the head fast... well, that button is now the slow button on the FC9000, with fast being on by default. My muscle...
  20. FC9000 + Take up reel review

So I know when the FC9000 came out, people had a lot of questions... It's new and no one knew how it'd be. I've been using it for a month... I honestly think it's one of the best purchases we've made in a long time. We have 30+ rolls of vinyl to cut for one job... It's all variable data setup...
