Late Friday update:
Tech that came out tested a file of ours on our printer in a generic Roland profile with banding and dropout on Thursday.
Tech printed exact same file on their demo XR640 printer with the same generic profile and it printed perfectly clear which he suggests there is still...
Friday update: Printer is STILL not usable. The tech was very knowledgable and pointed out multiple problems with printer which he replaced including a wrongly set up takeup bar (which was setup by Roland themselves), wrongly installed (and broken) pinch rollers and some other things...
Just make sure all the panels in queue are the same width if your running like this.
If for instance you are paneling something and 4 panels are 50" and the last one is 20" the heating time and dry is different and will cause the last to panels to misalign on install. Pretty much the last...
Sounds like everyone is having issues with these heads. Banding is a major problem. Will run good at first but give it time. I wonder when they will realize it's a faulty product. For the few out there running with no issues... Run more media.
I also have a feeling some people that are new...
I agree. I think it's obvious that the XF and RF printers are far superior with a new takeup system and speed. I wish they had that system with added lm lc lk inks and is swap the XR right now.
We only run OEM inks. Have shelves of them.
Well. I had a metallic wrap to print and install 3 weeks ago. There goes that client. Thanks again. I'm not sure I will be hearing from them ever again.
That's what I would think but it's going on three weeks with my second defective machine and zero income made from it. Everyone is trying to get me to go to latex but I keep giving Roland the benefit of the doubt. If this isn't resolved soon It could be detrimental.
A wrap a day keeps the pay...
We've used both ways and neither makes a difference. It will run perfect until about 20+feet of material gets on the core then it always starts walking.
Sunday update:
Wish I was printing already. Ugh...
Printer wasn't fixed yesterday. Tech says taking ink but not firing. Might possibly need long trailing cables.
This could be going into late next week.. This will be week 3. I'm suspecting I'll have some pissed off clients.
Update:
Roland called me direct. They are taking over on the repair and issues I am having. Hopefully it can be resolved soon so I can get some wraps printed!
