  2. Is this a custom font?

Thanks George, I have no fear of perfection on this one. This logo comes from somewhere around the 1940's, from a company that made aircraft floats. A client of mine is a MASTER craftsman at replicating scaled down RC aircraft. I'm not kidding..you should see some of his work. Some of his...
  3. Is this a custom font?

The EDO is what I'm referring to. Anything close would be acceptable. This logo image is .75 inches tall and about 1.25 inches wide. This is the best photo I could come up with and several scanning attempts yeilded no better image. I'm having trouble to vectorize it. Tried corel trace ( X3)...
  4. Upstart Info

From what you described at first, it sounds like you need a plotter only, not a print/cut system. 3 to 5 year magnets only need intermediate vinyl. And lamination is then also not needed. Most cutters come with some kind of basic design program, so you can get to work right off the bat. You may...

Any other thoughts on this? Thanks...Ken
  6. ColorRip 2.0 vs Windows Print Driver

Have you tried the upgrade to colorip 2.2? Also what resolution are you printing at? 320 will create severe banding, 720 not too bad and 1440 should not be noticeable at all. When exporting files with a gradient, how many steps are you allowing in the fountain fill dialogue? I use minimum 200...
  7. Versacamm behaving oddly...

Just ran 2 more prints after a reboot, and all went well. It just seems to me that Colorip has a slow response time? At one point I did have a lot of files standing in the print queue lists but I paired that down to almost nothing and that seemed to help colorip move along a little quicker...

Really? I have colorchoice..I forgot..from my stika machine..you really think that will work on the versa? Cheers! Ken
  9. Versacamm behaving oddly...

Yeah KR3, feeling something like that. I just took a break and came back to it. After a re-boot things went ok. First 3 jobs (same file) were fine, the fourth crapped out about 2 inches into the print...

Hi Rep. No I haven't tried 'cause colorip is all I've got. What would you suggest? Thanks. Ken

  13. SP300 tool ribbon cable

I did manage to replace mine a while back. It was not fun. Carefull you dont drop any of those little plastic rivets into the machine. Put a covering of some sort over the platten and rollers. Good luck. Ken

My sp300 has lately started to do weird things. I'm using colorip 2.2. Firmware is 6.2. I'll be printing a file and the machine will stop printing part way thru and start advancing the material then do the outline cut. Sometimes the print will get all disorganized, printed out of sequence. Ie: a...

  18. Time for an introduction

HI Dave. Welcome BACK! So what are you thinking about your re-entry to the biz? Are you gonna "tech-up?" or stick with wall-dog stuff? Or a combo thereof? And is it red-beer-ed or red beered. What I really want to know is if you have a red beard or you drink red beer? Either one is Ok, just...
  19. Took the plunge...Wish me luck!!!

    Good luck! Ken
  20. I warned you about my stupid questions...

I dont have your machine but I usually set up my page size to match the vinyl width..which ends up being the heigth of the layout. Ie..you are using 24 inch vinyl then set your corel page to be 24 in high by however long. A little trial and error will soon show how this is actually output by...
