  1. A Good Overseas CNC Router Table

We run a 5x10 Laguna with ATC, bought it in 2012, it's been a great machine and the tech support was top shelf when we were learning how to run it.
  2. Mimaki printer profiles

I have no 540x720 profile and my least # of passes is 8. I'm fairly sure the machine just needs some tweaking, we've had it about a month.

  5. Mimaki printer profiles

Hi all, I've replaced my trusty Roland 545EX battle wagon with a Mimaki CJV 150-160. Although the Mimaki should print considerably faster than the old Roland, I'm not getting the speed I expected. I print Arlon vinyl. Can someone steer me toward good profiles. The output I'm getting is great...
  6. Need to resurrect old sign business and upgrade all equipment

The new printer/plotter will eat up most of your 15-20k budget. I would suggest you buy digital printing online from an "only to trade" company. Get a feel for today's market in your area. Buy equipment that lets you run with your customer's needs based on the type of orders you get. Let the...
  7. CARVED SIGN

Nice sign Bill. The three posts are dramatic and totally unique.
  8. Some recent work

Glad you like them. The lobster is 18lb HDU. We backed it up with a profile cut of .080 aluminum because I feared the legs might break over time.
  9. 9/11 . . .20 years later. Have you Forgotten?

No, I haven't forgotten. I was installing gold leaf vinyl glass door lettering and a sign 12 blocks from the world trade center that morning, Working on the reverse cut door vinyl, I saw everyone outside through the window stop moving and jerk their heads in the same direction. I thought it was...
  10. CNC cutting copper

Thank you for the specific RPM and feed info. That will be a good place to start. Depends on the online vender. The one I use has a warehouse 1/2HR drive from my shop. Their prices always beat Yarde Metals where I used to buy my metal & we can pick-up saving silly delivery charges.
  11. CNC cutting copper

The two 24x36x.250 copper plates were bought by us. Interesting point. When I went to my supplier's web site they were $680.00 each. When I went to order them 4 days later they had increased in price to over $1100.00:eek:
  12. CNC cutting copper

Thanks for your interest. My cutter is a Laguna smart shop II 11KW spindle, 24k max rpm
  13. CNC cutting copper

Does anyone have experience cutting copper with a CNC? I need to cut knock-out letters in two 24"x36"x.250" plates. Copper alloy is 110. I assume an aluminum cutting bit would work but I think copper is a bit gummier.
  14. Who remembers the Gerber 4b?

I thought of that but wouldn't I have to key in 8,000 dots?
  15. Who remembers the Gerber 4b?

Hi all, I have a recurring order for 5-10k black intermediate vinyl discs 1/2" and 1.5" diameter. My friction feed plotter is fine for typical vinyl cutting but when cutting thousands of discs it wanders a bit. I bought a 4b with 15" and 30" plotters off ebay. They came with a PCX-5D box. Can...
  16. Mimaki heat settings

Arlon told me 40 42 & 55. The reason for my post is those numbers seemed too high to me. I feel yours are probably better, thanks.

It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop.
  19. Hovering Clients

We all must remember, whether or not we like it, sign making is a performing art. People just have to say: Is that how you spell "the" :( Is that straight, centered, etc? Oh, and my favorite one "the computer does all the work"
  20. Raster Link 6 plus

My new printer was installed yesterday. The included software, Raster Link 6 plus is very disappointing. I know new software is always a bit daunting at first but what's up with the ultra low resolution? I liked versa works, it seemed much more intuitive and graphics weren't so pixelated. Is...
