  1. Is Facebook taking over the world?

My new website I'm still working on has a way for you to leave comments using your Facebook profile. Here's an example:http://diazmedia.com/?p=152 As long as you are logged into facebook, on that computer you should be able to comment on my site using your profile. I don't think it's an...
  2. Apple has reported Steve Jobs has died

    Terrible news indeed.
  3. WinPlot vs CoCut

Thanks Jim, We'll give it a shot. It's good that merchant members like you are a part of this community and here to offer help with their products.
  4. WinPlot vs CoCut

We cut right out of Corel too. We used to use Cocut, but it caused some weird buggy stuff to happen to Corel. That may have been OS related, driver related, or even user error. Our plotter is ancient so that may have played a factor also. However our plotter is a workhorse, it just keeps going...
  5. Signs 101 Membership Qualifications

:goodpost::ROFLMAO: Perhaps if there were a way to distinguish the two during registration... But I don't think it would matter that much. We get those people anyway. It might be easier just to ignore those people... or as individuals we can choose whether or not we should help another...
  6. What are your pet peeves

People who log on to internet forums using an unimaginative alias so they can say stupid stuff like: "Sign makers being allowed to design logos, business cards, and stationary"
  7. What are your pet peeves

Don't.... TOUCH MY FREAKIN MONITOR WITH YOUR FREAKIN FINGER! ahhh. I feel better now. LOL
  8. Logo with these elements only...

Here's mine. Here's another one I was messing around with. I only used one font, a line and the two colors: The tildes makes up the mustard. :corndog: Fun post, makes you think.:thumb:
  9. riddle me this riddle me that

Just don't bend over all the way. Or you will run into the problems that OP is having, and it will happen time and time again. I have found customers respect a clearly spelled out policy on these things. We take Rick's approach, and I think most shops should too. It's clearly the best way...
  10. Converting Vectors to CMYK

Yeah. Find and replace, then select replace color model. But it shouldn't matter with most rip software.
  11. Outstanding! Joe Diaz wins Grand Prize

Thanks again guys, Here's the new printer up and running: Consequently, we are wanting to sell our old versacamm. Nothings wrong with it, we just don't need two. I'll post something in the classified when I get some time. Oh and the picture was taken on the new Canon T3i that I won too.
  12. Postcard Layout

If you are missing an integral piece of the puzzle that is preventing you from being successful, in your case an employee that can design, you will have a hard time becoming successful without one in this line of work. If you can handle your responsibilities as a business owner, a good solid...
  13. Arcade Logo

    Here's an alternate design/sign layout.
  14. Arcade Logo

Yeah my sketches are real rough though, Most of the work is done in corel. This is the logo that I'm going to do at this years seminar at Sign World. I will be going through the whole process there.
  15. Arcade Logo

This is a brand I designed for a place that would compete with Dave and Busters, but with a Mediterranean/Ancient Greek theme.
  16. Watch me trace

I think I see what your problem is bobby, We use versaworks too. When designing, keep the fountian steps padlock locked. (it should be that way by default.) If you are seeing steps on the screen, ignore that. It won't print that way. When exporting an eps, in the Export EPS dialog box, make...
  17. Watch me trace

Yeah Sorry. I just love chatting about this stuff. I wanted to respond to some of what he was saying. Looking back, perhaps I should have responded in a different thread. But I'm done now. I didn't mean any harm by it. Love the video though. You do nice work. This should be a good sales...
  18. Watch me trace

I don't want to :thread Eric's thread here. So i'll follow up, but then I'm just going to leave it at that. In Corel, when the padlock is locked and 256 is grayed out, the rip/print recreates the fill with as many steps as it possibly can. Or at least that is how it has been explained to me...
  19. Watch me trace

First off nice video Eric. I enjoyed watching it. I think the thing to keep in mind is what you and other people view as "flaws" could be completely different. It probably has a lot to do with personal preferences, what you use the most, what you are most comfortable using, what you started...
  20. What is this font?
