  4. Anybody have a SOLJET EJ-640 and have a review?

We are looking at new Rolands and it appears that this EJ-640 has the same head [two of them] as our RF-640, which we have had great luck with and love, and it is full solvent ink. Any other comments please. Thanks Gene
  5. For those of you outside of Texas...

That would make you a Ted Cruz fan? I like these signs better than his.
  6. Laser engraving question

Steve- we have a forum for old challenged RDworks users. RDworkslab.com if you are interested. Also see Russ' video [115 I think] for a deep dive into engraving. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqCyShJXqnElPTUnxX0mD5A
  7. SummaAmerica - SummaUSA - Airmark

Your best bet would be to call Airmark- they will be able to help you.
  8. Versaworks 6

Perhaps VanderJ could help us understand which machines work with V6 and Dual- I have looked on the Roland site and it is not clear at all.
  9. Versaworks 6

It appears that 6 is a free update to Dual... wasn't Dual a free update to VW 5? I kinda thought 6 was replacing Dual [and VW 5]? I tend to hang back a couple months before doing updates, let some of Ya'll sort out the inevitable problems, ya know.

  11. Need Help Anybody know a good cut vinyl wholesaler?

Good to see ya Doug- if you have a printer locally, do they cut their printed vinyl? I am retired but any color that is not worth stocking is printed and then cut. That is 80% of the work these days. Gene
  12. SummaAmerica - SummaUSA - Airmark

I bought my first Summa T750 23 years ago from a local dealer and another one about 5 years later from SummaUSA [I think?] which is now Airmark. These people have always been more than helpful with the very few problems I have had with these machines and we used the hell out of them, and still...
  13. Question What type of material to Create Helicopter (or Aviation) N numbers?

Sub or Hypersonic? We are a mile from a releaver airfield and do many with premium vinyl. Only one old army trainer has crashed so far.
  14. Hand Carved & Gold Leafed

Nice job Neato- we have an old phart [he is actually younger than I am] that carves wood signs with a hand held router. He saw someone doing it at our State fair doing in a booth and has wanted to do it for decades, started practicing and he is pretty good at it for casual signage. He draws out...
  15. Need supplier for thin VHB tape

I have some Romark with 3M 467MP [200MP adhesive]- it is .040 for ADS laser cut signage- looks like the tape [preapplied] is less than .010- maybe .005
  16. Das Haus

Looks like an Imperial eagle to me, I'm reading a book about Kaiser Wilhelm II. Nazi eagles were much more stylized.
  17. Question Motivation, Incentives, Production Increase

I refuse to be a loud, mean, cursing, egotistical, greedy, lying, psychopath, cheapster, type boss... that is what is in now days I am afraid. But is not necessary. Lead from the front is good. Make the work place fun, be pleasant no matter what is going on in your life, be deserving of respect...
  18. RF640 Combo with Dryer

We have had a RF for 4 years or so and it is a workhorse. I have never seen the dryer or even pictures of it so I cannot advise you there, I built a dryer with a black box IR dryer behind an aluminum panel that the vinyl passes over and we do not as a rule allow any drying time before...
  19. Need Help Roland Head/Captop Issue?

Not sure which head you have- our RF is the larger head [2x2 inch or so] and that is a lot of area to seal, I clean it carefully when I pull out the wiper and scraper assembly to clean it and pay attention to where the ink is building up on the capping station- if it is consistently on one side...
