I appreciate your thoughts but I don't buy that. Someone at Mimaki thinks it's uber clever and doesn't care if it bothers their customers. A firmware change so it can be turned on or off would be much appreciated.
I really miss my old Roland. It had buttons on the front for common tasks like...
Good grief. Well that's disappointing to put it mildly. Not sure what it's supposed to be helpful for. Thanks for the info! I'll set them the same at least.
Still scratching my head over "Local" and "Remote" ...
Just bought a new CJV150 and have a question. How do I turn off the pinch roller automatic change monkey business? I don't need the printer to faff about with the pinch rollers every time I try to print or cut something. Sometimes it just goes to each one and does nothing at all. Sometimes it...
Getting more and more trailer work... and the roller I'm using over rivets is getting hard to use. My wrist is getting quite sore. Much more of this and I'll have carpel tunnel syndrome. Is anyone selling anything new under the sun for rolling down rivets that might be easier on my wrists?

Signed up in 2005. Haven't been active here for a few years... but I still make signs! Carved/gilded a lot of signs back then but mostly do tractor/trailer lettering now.
Got some great help from the forum today!
Thank you for your thoughts. The other computers are using postscript2 and make files that work. I tried postscript3 with no change. I have a workaround with the pdf files(and my old XP computer) so I'm going to take a much needed break from this for a few days before I try the F8 idea. I'm a...
Well Dang! I had no idea I could cut a pdf! Thanks for that! I just made a pdf and VW accepted it and printed/cut it. I also made a jpg and it printed that too. It just won't cut an eps that was made on the same machine the VW is installed on. Just to be sure I just tried another eps attempt and...
Could be. I've tried very carefully to see anything different between the computers that work and the one that doesn't. I can't see anything.
This all worked perfectly just a few days ago. Maybe I should try a restore point to a couple of weeks ago?
Thanks. I did that with the W7 CHKDSK utility. Took 8 hours! No change. This software "crystal disc" might do a better job? Also defragged the discs and did a "disc cleanup" Found 91Gig of crap... but still no joy.
Just fired up another old W7 computer with Corel X4 on it and it too makes Corel...
I've tried that. A square won't work.
I can make any file I want on the XP computer and VW runs it fine. I just can't get the W7computer VW is installed on to accept a file made on that same W7 computer. Something in W7 is corrupting the Corel file I guess.
I need files I can print and cut. I don't think I can cut a pdf. I tried a fresh install of X4 but it made no difference. I don't have a copy of an older version.
Thanks for the response. I'm not sure what "software is aging out" means but I appreciate the suggestion. I'll google it. I've tried pretty much everything I can see for exporting the file. I went step by step with the XP computer and the same exact steps on the Windows 7 one and still no joy...
Versaworks has decided new eps files from Coreldraw X4 are no longer usable. My printer (SP540V) is run by a Windows7 computer. It will run files that were made last week but I can't make new files.
If I make a new eps file on my ancient (2002) Windows XP computer (running the same version of...
Pics? It's a cutting strip guide... not terribly photogenic. Here are some pics anyway. One shows a short section where I was making sure the notches and holes lined up perfectly. Another shows the two strips with the cable in between. They are white where the originals are clear.
Am I correct...
I needed new ones or my printer was dead. These are the plastic strips that go on each side of the carriage cable that goes back and forth with the printhead. I couldn't find these anywhere so I made my own out of mylar on my laser cutter. Seem to be working just fine. Saved my printer from the...
