  1. ADSI vs APD?

Ok, I must have read them wrong, I tend to speed read through names, and remember specs. OOPS. Thanks for clearing that up!
  2. ADSI vs APD?

Seems like 2 companies arising out of the ashes of the old Allen Datagraph. I was wondering what folks thought about them. http://www.adsi-usa.com/Sin/main_Sin.htm http://www.apdevices.com/Plotter.html Now my question is which is more like the old Allen Datagraph? What is the story? To me...
  3. Happy New Year…

Replicator, duck pin has a small ball, it is different than candle pin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duckpin_bowling Farmboy, duck pin is hard too… no one has ever bowled a perfect game. It seems so easy, but it lulls you in, and its just so hard!
  4. Happy New Year…

To one and all. My wife and I are going duck pin bowling for 5+hours! Should be a blast.
  5. My personal truck wrap for work

Judging by the gallery (a link to flikr) they are still in operation. If you are so concerned why not check with the guy? Generally I hate wraps because there is no thought put into them. I mean critical thought. Just because you can does not mean you should. Leaving space allows for the...
  6. Typeface....

Nah, Shovel bought that old person Tylenol that smells like mold, I mean what did he know, he was above da weather! (sorry Shovel, youse just easy pickins sometimes)

  8. New to LXi/Flexi, really liking it.

Another day of working on it and it is a real nice tool, I really like how you can move around easy, even as a flexi newb (but not new to vector programs). So far I love the stripes, the trapping and I still find the font interface (especially the font menu) lacking. But I have decide to...
  9. Impressive bus wrap -- NOT MINE!

That is great, a very well designed (from all aspects) and implemented. That is what Wraps should be like!!
  10. Typeface....

    On my system, its PLASTERED!
  11. Hate to knit-pick but......

There is always the issue, and it should not be forgotten of production… and then commodity pricing. That is precisely what has happened in print and the rest of the graphic arts will follow. The more difficult, labor intensive aspects are the last to follow, but eventually they all do, and that...
  12. Hate to knit-pick but......

Bob, I am not saying that good sense and good design are part of nostalgia, quite the opposite. But when a point gets rounded off so that 72 = 1 inch, the point, as a valid indicator, no longer has the validity it once did. So, if I say 3 picas and someone now says half inch, it is exactly the...
  13. Hate to knit-pick but......

I think that once a 72 points equaled an inch, it was over. Leading (or ledding) really has no place in digital composition, it is more truly line spacing. I agree on a historical and factual content of the misuse of fonts and typefaces, but only because it is bad to lose such a colorful...

    I like that!:U Rock:
  15. Hate to knit-pick but......

Fonts, typefaces, its all in a name and a time period. Who really cares? My new program LXi Master Plus has sizing in inches… does it really matter, other than paying homage to a great tradition?
  16. New to LXi/Flexi, really liking it.

Hi Fred, I am not yet knowledgeable enough on the software to give a review of it, but when I am comfortable enough with it, I most certainly will.
  17. New to LXi/Flexi, really liking it.

No problems with the fonts themselves, but it seems a little less intuitive from the menu standpoint, but like I said the Kerning adjustments are totally great! Really just a minor gripe at a first time flexi/lxi user.
  18. New to LXi/Flexi, really liking it.

Got Master Plus 8.0 and it came in time for Christmas… been sick, but working on it has been really nice. It was easy to setup my cutter (I do vynul only), it took me an hour or so and would have been much quicker had I NOTICED that you need to have a serial cable plugged into the cutter for...
