  1. GS6000 take-up

Agreed. We've had it since early December and have not had an issue since.
  2. Caveat Emptor: (Thinking of buy Wasatch Softrip?)

Get Caldera. We've worked our way up through Wasatch then Onyx and now Caldera. Caldera is brilliant.
  3. RIP required for Mimaki JV3 160sp

    VisualRIP+ and GrandRIP+.
  4. GS6000 take-up

Also, as I mentioned above, this is a known issue with the GS6000 and if you ask them for it they'll install a brand new feed system that will solve the problem. They just released it in late November-early December. They found the trouble was not the reel, but the way that the media would...
  5. RIP required for Mimaki JV3 160sp

Caldera Get Caldera. Don't look back.
  6. GS6000 take-up

There's a new set of parts you need for your printer. Call Epson and ask them for the modification kit to be installed. They put a whole new media intake setup on the back of the machine. It works like a charm.
  7. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

We just finished installing our 3rd GS6000. The first two were close together in production dates, but this one is about six months after. It'll be interesting to see if this machine has the same issues as the other two or not. I'll keep this thread updated with anything that happens.
  8. Main Board Needed

Roland XJ-740. Needs a new main board. Anyone a Roland dealer who can source me this part? Thanks.
  9. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

Our second machine is fixed again. New motor, new belt. Decision One (Epson's one site contractor) has a great tech in my area. Problem solved until the next time. Also-- for the green-- we always use the gutter strip. Any time we print we've got ink flowing through all heads. Never had...
  10. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

It's a pain obviously to have a machine go down. It's a real pain to have two of them go down. I think our third one will be our last. Our tech is great but I really shouldn't be seeing him as much as we do! We're only 6-8 months in to these machines! Who knows what year two will bring...
  11. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

I spoke too soon. Not an hour after the tech left fixing our first Epson, the 2nd one broke-- same error, same sound. The belt is broken. The quality of the print is killer, the build quality of the machine---- not so good. However, Epson support is fantastic and the tech is usually next...
  12. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

Oddly enough the tech is here doing our third one right now.... Just finished installing the parts. We have two, soon to be three of these machines. Only the one has problems. The other one hasn't had this particular issue yet. Go figure!
  13. Epson GS6000

  14. Epson GS6000

If you cut a lot and have several different jobs on the roll a RIP like Caldera can create a Summa Cutter bar code which the cutter will then read, load the job, cut, look for the next bar code, load the job, cut and so on. Oddly enough it doesn't work with the OPOS Cam. I guess you have to...
  15. Epson GS6000

If you throw a level on the top of our machine, on top of the rocker bar or on top of the bar the tube goes sits on, you'll see our machines and their parts are level. We've tried both same sized tubes as well as longer tubes and had the same trouble. What is annoying is that it works for...
  16. Epson GS6000

You ought to get that Summa. We a couple of the S Class T Series.... We throw a lot of different types of printed media through it-- never a problem with the registration makers. No sandpaper necessary.
  17. Epson GS6000

I purchased both within a month of each other from Grimco. When we purchased them we were on Onyx. Now we've moved everything over to Caldera. Both RIPs work great with it. We gave up on the take up reel. 100' in we'd headstrike. Could not ever seem to get it going so we've switched to...
  18. Epson GS6000

A lot of volume, yes, doable, certainly. We do it all the time with our two GS6000s. They've both been running strong since the day we got them.
  19. Epson GS6000

    Great choice.
  20. Epson GS6000

If you've yet to purchase may I suggest Michael Kerber @ Grimco?
