  1. Trailer Wrap.... looking for suggestions.

We use 3M 180 series solid color vinyls and 1080 series solid color vinyls for color change wraps on trailers all the time here. We also remove all of the screws as we go. I would say just wrap up to the "gutter" line and stop there, that should look good - or else you're gonna have to wrap a...
  2. Photoshop gradient help

The info you seek may be in this thread: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?116060-Printing-on-colored-wrap-film&highlight=gradient
  3. Outgassing, please help!

That is ours in the thread linked above. The box fan is on low speed as the solvents don't out-gas at a high rate of speed and it keeps the multiple rolls inside from fluttering around and touching each other.
  4. Box Truck Rear Roll Up Door

I always do vertical panels on box trucks per the installers' request unless specified otherwise by the customer.
  5. Outgassing, please help!

For backlits you have to lay down a bunch of ink to achieve the correct colors once it is lit. If you would like to shorten your drying time (I think it cuts ours in half) try building a drying chamber like in this thread...
  6. Best material for interior block wall raps/prints?

We have been doing a lot of interior murals, wall wraps, graphics, etc on painted concrete block walls. At first we tried using 3M 180c, but it popped back out of a lot of the seams. After that we have been using 3M 8624, but it is still popping back out of the seams. We have been laminating...
  7. Carriage cable?

http://www.trigonimaging.com/ or https://www.sourceoneonline.com Both have Cincinnati, OH locations.
  8. Reflective Window Perf

It wont work, we had a request from a large dept near here and got some samples of the clear focus stuff. It didn't work, was not conformable, and had poor visibility. Also, a lot of the officers commented that when they approached their own vehicles with prisoners inside they wanted to be sure...
  9. A Gallery of Before and Afters

    Awesome work Dan.
  10. edge fx printing with out lamination

We always use 3m 8518/8519/8520 for our edge prints here, never had any issues. I've never heard of the frogskin product before.
  11. edge fx printing with out lamination

We ALWAYS laminate here. Once laminated they last just as long as solvent prints. Never had any fading problems with laminated Edge prints, we just make it standard practice that anything printed (on any machine) always gets laminated.
  12. Printed "Gold Leaf"

We print mainly on Leo's Gold; Smart Gold, and with the hand-made turns on the material it looks pretty close to the real thing. I've done hundreds of trucks with it and as long as it is encapsulated it lasts quite a long time. (it REALLY doesn't like curves though!) We have also some of the...
  13. Gerber Maxx 2 Is it worth buying?

Steer far, far away from this. We have two Edges and they are great, but I have heard nothing but bad things about the maxx we used to have here.
  14. Does the JV3-160SP print on clear vinyl?

Yes, you can print on clear vinyl, laminate, and even 15" wide 220 clear enamel receptive. Laminate it with the appropriate clear like any other print and you're good to go. Print-cut requires a non-optically-clear backer.
  15. machine table set up ideas

In case anyone ever searches, here are how (one of) ours are set up.
  16. Have you done a Mosquito Joe transit?

Almost all of these vehicles for these franchises are lease vehicles. So, they lease a white vehicle from the lease company (as white has the highest lease return/resale value) and they can color-change wrap it any color from there. Custom painted vehicles are much harder to sale, and if it was...
  17. Have you done a Mosquito Joe transit?

Why aren't the words "mosquito" and "joe" running parallel???? I haven't even seen that company around here, but from the other similar (franchise) companies we do installs for I would assume that the yellow is a color change wrap with all of the other elements applied over it. I am not sure...
  18. machine table set up ideas

Sounds like a horrible idea and lots of bumped heads. You have to lean over both machines to load them and adjust them. You'll need a catch basket for either side of both the printer and plotter, and the laminator will also need its own area.
  19. Totally Free Trailer Template Anyone?

I think it took an hour or so messing around on a slow day. With good measurements, drawings fly by - but you know how good of measurements you get most of the time! ;)
