  1. LX850 Color Consistency Problem

How did you make a profile if you did not linearize somewhere. If it is actually done on the printer then re-linearize from the printer. Without re-linearizing you'll never get a color consistency as heads wear and are replaced or media changes. Of course you can do the whole CM to a new profile...
  2. ICC Nightmare

Sorry about that. Anyone that claims colour management was a waste of time and caused aggravation is clueless.
  3. ICC Nightmare

I have been doing color management with printers from inkjets to digital presses for probably at least 15 years now. Not really sure what you mean by aggravation, but I am certain it would be aggravation to not linearize and create a profile for the media and just rely on guesswork, twicking...
  4. LX850 Color Consistency Problem

    Did you re-linearize.
  5. Service Maintenance Kit #3 Question

I didn't think I was that heavy of a user. Certainly some one have gotten to the end of life on the Service Maintenance Kit #3 haven't they.
  6. Service Maintenance Kit #3 Question

L25500 no effect on print quality at this time. What did you do when you reached EOL counter on Service Maintenance Kit #3. 1. Call Tech and have it done by them? 2. Order the parts and do it yourself? Looks fairly easy. 3. Just reset the counter? Do it down the road if print quality...
  7. Anyone have success tiling banners on the HP Latex 260?

The must frustrating thing lately has been the inconsistent coatings on media. Running Ultraflex Blockout LTX yesterday there were inconsistencies in the coat at different place in the roll sometimes from left to right as it was printing. I wonder if this is more noticeable with Latex inks in...
  8. Have never seen this happen.................

Most good RIPs that I have encountered can be set to print a precentage of black as Inkjet black only at what ever percentage you want. Use a spot color (name it what ever you want) and edit it in the RIP to what percentage of inkjet black only. There is no reason you should be forced to use...
  9. Matching color on L26500's and LX850

I never have had issues with black being to light unless I forgot to set black as inkjet black in the RIP or there were other colors mixed with 100% black and then I would call that a milky look. Probably from ink limiting. When you print your linearization/ink limit targets what does your...
  10. Matching color on L26500's and LX850

Because of the effects from aging and use of the Latex printheads it is very important to Re-Linearize each media settings fairly regularly if you want to maintain consistent color.
  11. CS6, has it already been made obsolete?

Open it in preview, save it as a pdf and then open it in Illistrator
  12. Which RIP for HP 260 Latex - are RIPs available by trial

One thing I a am wondering about with Caldera is, can I control it from any workstation as in a client or web interface. I am so spoiled by the Fiery client server way of doing things that I loath having to go to the actual RIPs to set up jobs. Because for what ever reason HP has refused to...
  13. Icc profile for 3m ij35-10 / flexi / l25500

Making a profile from scratch takes all of about 4 or 5 feet of material and maybe 1/2 hour but most of that time can be spent doing something else while the printer is printing targets. Reading the targets total takes maybe 10 minutes. And remember with Latex the prints are dry to measure...
  14. Icc profile for 3m ij35-10 / flexi / l25500

Gets really expensive to monkey around like this as opposed to just creating your own profile.
  15. HP L25500 Operations question

I assume you have rebooted the printer (you didn't mention it). I have found with latest firmware for the L25500 that the software is more flaky than even MS junk and see some really strange things happen at times which always needs a reboot of the printer to correct the behavior.
  16. Hp 26500 vertical banding

Looks like not best media, uneven coating. Shows up because of to much ink laydown for the amount of passes or drying heat and air flow not high enough for amount of pass for the quality of the media.
  17. HP L25500 :: Print quality issues (spitting?)

Is that on Avery material. I have seen coating problems that look very much like that. You could do more passes, unidirectional, or redo your CM for lower ink levels.
  18. What's your planned schedule for the 4th?

Too depressing of a day. I chose to work and try to forget about our great lose.
  19. L26500 Stops Printing During Job 63:05

Might be that particular job can not rasterize the data fast enough for the print spool. Check to see that the RIP is not sending data to the printer at the same time as it is ripping. There should a be a RIP setting for that.
  20. Profiling Media

I am assuming you are only talking about the ONYX rip here. There are other RIPs that can build profiles with the in-built spectro on the L25/L26/L28 latex printers.
