If they have a service/support issue, who's fault is that? If there's a way to change the title, let me know and I will amend it to something you would consider more fair.
Well, it turns out the problem was the flex cable that runs from the gantry board to the carriage board. I replaced it today and it is now running well.
I left a message. (waiting)
Tony, I think there are some superstars at Gerber, but I think they are overwhelmed...that does sound like a management problem.
After reading the buyout press release I bet the tooling is already on its way to a company in China. Parts will get cheaper and ink will be around forever. The Chinese Cat UV. If I had a great product (which I think the Solara is) that I just could not make money on, I would be open to...
Yes, I was told (by Gerber) that they would continue to support the printer for 5 years and provide inks even longer.
Vector Capital sounds like a private equity firm. If they are anything like the one I use to work for they will suck any remaining life out of Gerber.
We have a network connection.
Gerber says a Data Link Error is not related to network connection.
To rule out any issues with the file or the computer I ran a test file that is part of the internal memory. It gave me the same problems.
I love my Gerber Solara Ion X when it runs. My beef is with Gerber Service.
I used to work for this company that was bought out by a Private Equity Firm. Gerber Service is acting just like that...like they were bought out by a greedy parent company that does not want to spend the time or...
Gerber Solara Ion X
I have a Gerber Solara Ion X. I love what it can do when it works. I'm more disappointed with Gerber Service.
There is no doubt that flatbed printing is the way of the future. I would never be in the sign business without a flatbed printer again.
It is probably best that...
I have a Gerber Solara Ion X. I've had it about 9 months and I got it used. (it is a 2009, it was decommissioned and installed by Gerber Techs).
From the day the Gerber Tech installed it we have always had an Encoder Failure error on start up.
Intermittently we have had "Data Link...
that's partially fair, but the blame may still be properly directed at Gerber.
What I take from your post is that I should start a thread with a detailed explanation of what the problem is and what we have done to correct it and see if anyone else has some input. I give the folks on this board...
You are correct. I'm emotional because without a working printer we are unable to provide product (for days) and I'm getting a lot of negative feedback from my customers. We are under a lot of pressure to keep our printer running to pay our bills and more importantly keep our customers happy...
I have had nothing but problems with Gerber Service. I believe they have tried to sabotage my repair efforts because they can't really be that stupid.
Call or PM me if you want details of why NOT to buy a Gerber ANYTHING. You will be sorry in the long run.
Does anyone have any Flexi profiles for Gerber Solara Ion x?
I have ones for coro, pvc and foamcore, and they are working well, but I would like ones for acrylic, glass, magnetic material and any other odd items.
Thanks!
