  1. What do you use for email?

That's not the issue, it never marked the mail as new when my customer replied to it, the reply was there, but it wasn't hilighted and it was mixed in with my other read mail.
  2. What do you use for email?

we use Gmail in our browsers, set to check our POP3 accounts, i like that I never have to delete anything, and that I can access it very easily from home if i need to. I had an issue a few weeks back where It marked an email as read, even though there was a new reply in the chain, so i never...
  3. Looking for some insight!

welcome, what do you want to know in perticular?
  4. Revealed: Hundreds of words to avoid using online if you don't want the government sp

I really don't want to turn this political, but my point is that even if you include the attacks in the last 100 years, the point still stands, you have a greater chance of being killed driving your car, than you do by a terrorist. Lets say that your insurance company comes out with a terrorism...
  5. Revealed: Hundreds of words to avoid using online if you don't want the government sp

    Yes really http://reason.com/archives/2011/09/06/how-scared-of-terrorism-should
  6. Revealed: Hundreds of words to avoid using online if you don't want the government sp

lol, prefect example of a solution looking for a problem to happen. the risk of terrorism on US soil, or any other developed western nation, is so small it's pretty much non-existent. as someone else pointed out, things like cigarettes, alcohol, traffic accidents, obesity and other ailments...
  7. What font for OSHA/ANSI signs?

    Helvetica or similar
  8. Oxidised surfaces

get a quote from a body shop to properly do the job, and explain to your customer that it needs to be done before the graphics are applied, give them the option of getting it done themselves or you can take it to the body shop for $xx. We are signmakers and/or installers, not auto body...
  9. Beer!

Yeah i'm on my 3rd batch now, so far i've only done coopers kits, they turn out great! The batch i made yesterday was my first attempt at mixing it up, I added some cascade hops and some dry malt to the brew, hoping for a nice easy drinking summer beer to have with some friends. Once the...
  10. Beer!

y wife bought me a homebrewing kit for my birthday, best present ever!
  11. My new logo

At first glance, however I've seen much worse posted here, and after a few suggestions/revisions from everyone, they end up with something decent.
  12. Double sided banners

for the very few that we do, we just stick black 3mil vinyl on the back side of one of the banners before they are sewn together, never had an issue doing this. if we did more double sided banners, i would consider stocking the blackout material.
  13. My new logo

it's not horrible, if you tone it down and make a few tweeks it may be useable. right now it looks like a sign at a drive-in movie theatre, nothing signs or graphics about it. 1) take the phone number and location off the logo, neither of these things belong in your logo. 2) the colours you...
  14. Trying to decide between SignVox and Estimate

are you looking to just quote jobs? We use estimate here and it works pretty well for what it does, however, as i understand it, signVOX pretty much covers all aspects of the business from estimating to proofing to invoicing.
  15. Extremely Fast Wide Format

very cool tech indeed, but completly useless for the average sign shop, you would print your weeks workload in 20 minutes. now for a company like merritt I can see this being useful. Not to mention, if this becomes the norm, the market price would drop beyond the point it it even being...
  16. Signs that float

Fair enough, we have a few customers, particularly in the healthcare industry, where site visits are the norm, we can't charge for them, but fortunately, once they are happy with your work, they usually don't seek out other quotes. It truly is amazing how many people want you to spend that time...
  17. Signs that float

you only charge $40 for that service? $40 doesn't get most of those boats out of the port.
  18. Grimco Purchases Proveer

I hope so, the selection we have is pretty poor, even with Proveer, who has theier head office in Toronto, I would guess that over 50% of their "North American" catalogue is not available to us.
  19. Grimco Purchases Proveer

Does anyone know if this will affect Proveer in Canada?
  20. Little Friday Project

Cool! the graphics on the white car in the last pic are horrible, you should fire that person.
