Ohhh embroidery!! You want headaches? now that's a machine to give you headaches. :frustrated: Don't cut the material just set your Z above material and cut air.
  2. Let me tell you about Chuck

I remember my first months as a CNC operator! Like others have said, rule out the obvious before you start driving yourself nuts. Doug, could you create a properly set-up circle or square file for her to run? This will rule out the possibility of incorrect feeds or speeds? Then...

  4. Chrome diner background

I have a customer looking to replicate the old diner quilted stainless look. Same as a new york hot dog cart. Has anyone found a seamless fill or have any idea where I might find this? I'm guessing it could be built in photoshop, but not enough time for that now. Thanks! -Matt
  5. Enroute4 - Rounded Edges?

I took a class on the 3d, but have never upgraded. Tom Penner would be the guy to contact. I would think that doing this in 3d would be time consuming though. From a machining standpoint. -Matt
  6. Enroute4 - Rounded Edges?

You are just trying to round off the edge? I use a round over bit and run it on my outside tool path creating a round over. Then use you end mill to cut out the letter. I think you can get round over at Lowes or Home Depot. Just make sure it's a plunge bit not a bearing. -Matt
  7. First CNC table router purchase advice needed!

I will try and dig up some pics tomorrow. Basically i used 1/2" komatex for the frame, cut notches to give it some structural integrity over and above the adhesive, put it together like a puzzle and glued it. We then let that part set-up over-nite. Then ran a bead of adhesive on the edge...
  8. First CNC table router purchase advice needed!

We did something like this, but we used komatex instead of aluminum. Worked well! Adhered it with lord adhesive. So many possibilities! -Matt
  9. First CNC table router purchase advice needed!

I have a Techno-Isel and have been more than happy with it. Tolerances have been more than adequate for sign projects. -Matt
  10. First CNC table router purchase advice needed!

Try used! More bang for your buck, but be aware you generally won't get any training or software. You may still have trouble squeezing a table and software out of that budget. :thumb: http://www.exfactory.com
  11. CNC trial run

Lot's of fun on the horizon! Make sure you wear your safety glasses! :thumb: .040 aluminum makes a very distinct sound just before the spindle throws it across the room. -Matt

  13. VJ Ink not completely empty

That's kinda what I was thinking. Do they make a retrofit kit to use them vertical? I always use 220's because I have the kids around, and don't want to risk them breaking off a 440. Thanks! :thumb: -Matt
  14. VJ Ink not completely empty

Not a lot of ink, but I noticed the indicator tab moves out and ink is still in front of mechanism inside cart. If I tilt the cartridge towards the end it goes back in. Problem is once the tab is out it apparently flashes the card. My warranty is up soon, maybe It's time for a service...
  15. VJ Ink not completely empty

I have noticed the last few times my printer has indicated that the ink is out there is still some left when cart is removed. Is anyone else noticing this. I did check the level on the machine and it is off a little. Any help would be appreciated, this ink is expensive and it seems like...

  19. Terminating forum membership

I think the S101 motto should be "Welcome to the Family!". Some nights it's like watching my 4 and 5 year old kids bicker. If you must go... some times it just doesn't work. I'll tell you though, people aren't always easy to read on message boards. It really has helped me to get out and...
