  1. employee stealing

just realized you're part of a franchise, and not your own shop also. You're drawing attention, not good attention to your franchise... As a franchisee, you'll likely get into a lot of trouble for a post like this... I'd remove it, before it gets further than it is, if I were you. If he stole...
  2. employee stealing

Unless you can 100% prove it, I'd delete your post. Even then, he may be able to sue you for slander. You didn't take him to court, therefore he's not guilty. In a civil suit such as being sued, it's up to you to prove it, not him. And even if you have proof, you never know how a jury will side...
  3. Looking for Mac software recommendations...

I love portables! I carry Illustrator/photoshop, FTP Client, browser, adware scanner, few other things on a keychain. Like I said, I'm just a creature of habit... I actually believe Apples way is better. I haven't looked into it, but I presume all files are stored in the application folder...
  4. Onyx 18

Speaking of spot color replacement... Where does onyx get its values for spot color replacement? When printing 123C Yellow, with spot color replacement on no matter what profile, our Seiko thinks it's something ridiculously light like 0,7,27. Where as if I have spot color replacement off...
  5. Looking for Mac software recommendations...

It's probably that I'm not used to it. The curskr on OSX don't feel as fluid as windows.. makes using one feel weird. I'm sure you can change it, but I've never bothered. My wife is pretty computer illiterate, so everytime she needs something done I have to do it for her. Even installing apps...
  6. Looking for Mac software recommendations...

Get cutting master, not graphtec studio. Then you create in Adobe illustrator... send to cutting master, and it'll cut whatever your vector is for you. Youtube Cutting master, tons and tons of videos on how to do it. It's the simplest way.. I still use it for print + cuts over flexi / Onyx's...
  7. Looking for Mac software recommendations...

Was a Joke. I hate OSX, My wife uses a mac, and everytime she needs me to do something for her, I feel like pulling my hair out. I do think Apple computers are over priced, and way too un customizable for my liking (Have to pull off the glass and unscrew 20 screws and risk breaking all the very...
  8. Looking for Mac software recommendations...

Parallels + windows + illustrator. ;) Any reason illustrator won't work? Illustrator + cutting master should be all you need to make your own stuff. Corel is another option if you.dont want to pay monthly. Depending what your doing, you could likelly buy a copy of Adobe cs6 for cheap.
  9. I need to vent...

What's the issue? Not sure what laminator you use... But on our seal... Grab on the right side, and on the left side... Stretch it out and affix it to the output edge of the laminator .Press down all along the edge. (you lose about 6 inches of material this way... ) It may look like it's not...
  10. How do you organize or pick your font?

I now use Fontbase. It's still in development, but it's much, much better than suitcase fusion. The paid version has auto activation - And prices arent bad. $3 a month, 29 a year, or $180 for lifetime. Currently they allow you to use it on unlimited computers... Though they said they might...
  11. [Solved] - Graphtec FC8600 problem

You could.. but all your custom settings would.be gone. So unless your comfortable re-run IMG calibration settings, I'd use it as a last resort. I'd also download plotter controller.for windows, you can backup your settings if you do that. You could also try switching to user 2... Pretty sure...
  12. [Solved] - Graphtec FC8600 problem

I've never had this problem, but I know cheaper media tends to bow when printing on the latex and causes this problem. Do you have a straight edge? Try putting your.media against a wall, or something you know is straight... See if the ends are touching but not the middle...
  13. substrate problem, dust?

In Flexi before you send the job, under job peroperties, printer options, click prepare to print, and let your.machine sit for 4-5 minutes. It'll warm up the printer. I have the same issue since my machine isn't in a heat controlled area, and this fixes the print from not drying and the quality...
  14. substrate problem, dust?

I can buy dust in the first 1-1.5 ft of the roll. But the material is loaded under the printer, it's somewhat covered... And there's not much lead between the roll and the printer. If it is dust, your machine would have a layer of dust when you open the viewing door... Does it look / feel...
  15. Low quality sign shops here in maine

There's bad quality everywhere. Sometimes it's justified... We've sent out some signs with bad banding on them like the op before. Our head was bad, and we couldn't get a replacement for a week... Some customers didnt want to wait, and said to just print it. Their reasoning was if your more...
  16. About Subscription Software...

Price was $495 USD, unless they changed it. A little expensive for what it is.... but options are better than no options.
  17. Vinyl Application and Wrapping school suggestions?

3m seems more towards experienced installers. They give you guidelines, throw some vinyl at you and tell you to have at it. They do walk around and help you with tips, steer you in the right direction .If I wasn't wrapping for awhile.befote I took the course, I think I'd be lost though. You...
  18. Reflective Ground Graphics

What kind of floor? Use a good thick floor overlam and any reflective if it's smooth. 3290 would be ok, albeit it a pain in the ass to remove when you want to remove it. Its cheap enough, and so long as is not like a concrete floor it should work. 680 is more expensive but would be better...
  19. Quick favor from someone with a home fb500/700?

Thanks! Interesting... Not too far off from being square. I wonder if perfect spec it's square, but then the belt moves a little over time. Ours is a quarter inch out... But when printing 3 18x30s across the whole belt, the 2nd/3rd sheet drifts by about 1/8 of an inch. Printing a 4x8 it...
  20. Quick favor from someone with a home fb500/700?

[edit] HP fb500, not home.. hope no one has one of these in their home! A phone tech told us the air holes on the belt should be equal distance to the alignment bar, ours is a good quarter inch out. We had a tech in who checked the tensions on the belt, said the belt is fine, and said it was...
