if this is a production employee that we are talking about..the simple reality is that production employees MUST generate a profit. There are two types of employees; money makers and money takers..if you are the later, watch out because your time is limited.
there are positions that it is...
I have had this discussion with multiple sign companies this last week...my advice is to hire the best employees that you can afford.
I have seen this odd patern where business owners hire ppl who have skills that are weaker than their own. When questioned on this & getting through the initial...
wonderful...the time goes SO fast..it seems like just the other day my daughter entered my life..now she controls it! Congrats, children are incredible.
when i sold supplies you wouldn't believe how many ppl were developing and cleaning screens in their kitchen sinks or bathtubs...

i am not sure about your model. but test cuts are an internal function on many plotters. my $ is still on a communication or setup error / operator error.
in corel create a small square or circle>>convert to curves>>print preview>>select your plotter and IF everything is setup correctly and...
you do NOT need to tape your design to the vinyl. you either have a communication or setup problem. that would be much easier to figure out if i was in front of the equipment.
you can send direct from corel.
make sure your text is converted to curves, this is a common error for new...

for common items like this they can...
anyone who does ada signs will be able to duplicate these for you...i've made thousands of them in the past for retirement homes ( so that they can cheaply change out the names when 'residents' ... 'move on') it is just non-glare acrylic that is backpainted (usually with lacryl) that is adhered...
