also, make sure you install the adobe1998.icc profile for your computers default icc. In photoshop set your default color settings to adobe1998.icc as well. Save as tiff.. I find they work better then PDF.
  3. Help on Roland fj540 profiles and media pls

It's not going to be efficient using photoshop to print. It will kill your CPU. Download versaworks.. I believe it's free for Roland users. The use of rip will save you time and money. Trust me, I print photos on a regular basis and you will NOT get accurate coloring produced in an manner...

    Welcome to the underground =)
  5. versaworks profile question

Gcvp is a profile for rolands (Avery) brand media. This = wrong ink saturation and profile for oracal media. Trust me we are Oracal OCS certified printers. It may look find and dandy but it will not last
  6. versaworks profile question

You don't want prepress or anything else in there. Set to custom with adobe1998.icc and cmykwebcoated. This (if your pc is set right) will match your computer and software settings and print correctly. I use that media on occasion and versaworks prints fine.
  7. Inks from CMYKPARTS.com...anyone using them??

Stick with OEM. Aftermarket inks kill the manufacturers warranty completely no matter what people tell you
  8. Materials won't lay flat

Try feeding enough material through until you can grab it by hand and keep tension on it. Start the print and continue to keep tension down and apart. If it solves your problem you need to reset the vacuum and heat settings to the reccomended manufacturer settings. If not it could be a roller issue.
  9. Todays Photoshop Update

Busy- We are speaking in terms of if you want the fastest possible combination of software you would need Windows 64bit, with CS4 64bit. <--Keep in mind that is only relative to the PC you have pushing the two. I think Casey has what you need =)
  10. Todays Photoshop Update

Casey, could it be the 200Mb video driver update for OpenGL I missed? I will give it a try. Busy.. Really Cs3 working alright? Nice! I haven't use any plugins for several years but on occasion to use Alien stuff I have to use the non-64bit versions. Lame
  11. Todays Photoshop Update

  13. Todays Photoshop Update

Really? Grab a wrap file and have auto select layer checked. Hold shift, then click a layer and try to move it up. Does is freeze?
  14. Todays Photoshop Update

You are totally right Casey. When it comes to extra large trailers there is a need to downsize the resolution because that size psb file takes time to save. I like to use the rule if its under 8 feet tall and 12 feet long 300ppi, Anything over is done at 80-150ppi. The fact is if my computer...
  15. Todays Photoshop Update

Ya typically my files are all well over 4-6 gigs per side. Yes, you are right abour magazines, that is why I do them this way. They are crystal clear and almost fake looking at 2 inches away because of the clarity. Don't get me wrong, 75ppi is great for quick turn around and I think everyone is...

    Me too!
  17. Todays Photoshop Update

Did anybody notice if you click shift before clicking a layer to move it photoshop freezes?
  18. Todays Photoshop Update

Ya I usually design everything at 300 full scale. There is a significant difference in the print quality when using the right profiling. (I have custom profiled all of our machines myself) Since we started I have never seen banding once in any print I have produced and rarely see pixels unless...
  19. Todays Photoshop Update

Is anyone else using Photoshop CS4_64Bit? I know this only applies to PC users because Macs were not fortunate enough to get 64bit Adobe this year. Today I got an update for the extended Open GL video. I have always had a fast computer but !!, now I'm rendering full scale trailer wraps at 300+...
  20. Hello. Bella From NY

You guys all have great points. I agree with sticking to the good stuff, less drama, better install and sleeping well at night! Being new you definitly don't want to be the new shop that has poor quality because it will come back in time. When we started we always used high end materials...
