I'm thinking it has to be the encoder strip or reader. Whenever we run let's say an 8 ft banner it starts off centered then by the end there is barely enough for a hem. It also is having a hard time printing crisp lines and shifts sometimes.
I replaced the encoder strip maybe 5 months ago with...
We are needing more finishing options outside of a panel saw. We are torn between a Router and I don't even know what you'd call this...flatbed cutter? Personally I'd think the router would be more useful day to day, but I don't know anything about flatbed cutters. We mostly do coro acm pvc the...
Update: "Fixed"
Cleaned encoder strip
I looked at the cables and outside of taking it all apart and probably breaking them, I still don't know what I'm looking for. Cut wire? Mouse chew?
Then a stroke of genius hit me. I moved the material over a half inch. =Rigged=
:)
Looks line the line is only associated with the black channel. Using assigned colors it would only show up on black mixes.
Pure red blue yellow and green didn't have the problem...
Is does look like a problem with that roller...nothing seems out of place though.

As I was about to take it apart a rush job came in that doesn't have to use the full width, so its been back burnered. Will update.
About an inch and a half into the material there is a lighter colored line. I changed materials restarted etc. still persists. Any ideas?
Roland Versa-Art RS-640
Hadn't even thought to do the math..sheesh..will try. Yeah its an old printer but its still going strong every day. And yes the black head makes calibration a crap shoot.
So we've just starting noticing that on a 4 foot print it comes out a half inch short. On eight feet its 3/4 inch. Normally not to big of an issue except when doing perfect fitting signs. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Edit: Left right is exact. Its something in the feed I'm guessing
Wow looked it up! I have all the symptoms including the clicking noise! Thank's man I do need to exercise more...I figured I was getting all the exercise I needed at work, but in reality I guess I've only been stressing the same muscle and tendon groups. Time to put my left arm to work.
We recently hired a half production half graphic designer but she isn't exactly up to loading banner rolls..I guess its time to implement team lift.
Edit: Man card turned in.
It started maybe 2 months ago and its pretty much been constant. I'm only 33 but have been working signs and banners for 15 years full time. I'm a pretty strong guy ~210 pounds. I feel like between pulling off transfer tape, squeegeeing, lifting acm and other boards, and loading full...
